I am liking it, but getting an R for MSRP or close to it would be like a conquest. The one guy change the $30K ADM to $25K within 2 minutes on the phone. So there is wiggle room. I have talked to two dealers back and forth.
lol.

When I was on the fence on buying an R I called several places that listed a MSRP. YUP! You guessed it! No dice! Even know that I own one I still look and just yesterday I emailed a car listed at sticker and they responded, "Our sell price is firm at 85K".

I'm going to speak from experience here- call, call, call. And scope out the ones that have been sitting on the floor locally and wait 4-5 weeks then start putting feelers on a more realistic price. When they first arrive, they are expecting the world on the price. After they realize no one is coming in and paying it, and it sits on their floorplan, that's the time to move. But each and every dealership is different just like each buyer is different.

Exactly, there will be that day when the '18's are out and the '17's are there. The ADM will go away one day and you never know what day that is until you try. They are supposed to call me back.

There is a 17 R at a local dealer with a $30k markup and they said it is firm. They had a base GT350 from a $15k markup that they were firm on as well. They asked why would they sell for less when they receive several calls a day with interested buyers. Okay.

Found a ZL1 at $9K under sticker on Autotrader in less than a minute the other day. The problem with that is how much more can you go?? $12k under? $15K under?
At least with an R we all know the end game....MSRP.
Good luck with your search Roy.

Just as dealers attempt to manipulate the market with ADMs, so do prospective buyers in making everyone think R prices are dropping. Outside of very few MSRP dealers, and some willing to take a hit on trade in vs PP sale, I have seen no evidence of Rs dropping much this year.

For other car fanboys to attempt to "influence" the value of Rs to make themselves feel better about what they don't have...now that's just pathetic.

My recent R purchase was negotiated at a 2K over cash sale. I decided to do a 51K trade in.

My next R purchase is at 5K ADM.

Prices are dropping, maybe not at the bay area, but how else do you explain? I wouldn't say pathetic.

I can see getting lucky once, but twice? Please....

Just can't get enuff!
^But yours is still a seldom score, right? It's not a regular norm...

Many R buyers I met, even in recent times, spent from 10k over to even over 20k ADM's. All have zero regrets though and all could afford paying the premiums.... but each still had a ceiling to spend.

I know I got lucky on my deal as well which is another reason I jumped on my R back in April. Plus I hardly lost much on my Focus RS trade in... msrp on it was 36.6k and my trade in (with 8500 miles) was 35k plus the tax advantage.

I'm aware of the same RubyRR car since my friend was interested and his highest offer and upper limit of 10k over was shot down repeatedly.
