So I was having a good ole time on the way home from work at my favorite deserted lot and decided to try my hand at some donuts.

I disabled stabilitrac, turned into it, nailed the gas and was off to donut heaven. Not sure what my RPM was but it was high, prolly 6-7k at the same time I had the clutch partially in. I donuted around for about 20 sec and it was over.

Post donut there was a sound much like a squeeky pully. It would increase in rate with throttle but not get louder. When I depressed the clutch pedal the sound stops. When I let the clutch back out the sound would start again.

I drove the car gently for a few miles and let it cool down, engine oil temps were 240 F. The car drove and shifted normally and the sound went away shortly after. I did a few pulls out to 8250 rpm and all was good. The sound seems to be gone.

Any idea what that was ? Maybe no more donuts for me.

TY for any help.

I cringe just reading this. lol Never done donuts in this car but have used linelock twice and felt awful afterward. Terrified of breaking something.

clutch throw noise after high revs that goes away has been posted about before, nobody seems to know the cause. I have never seen the workings of our hyd throw out.

"..clutch partially in"

When you did that, you were abusing and overheating the throw out bearing..don't do that. Always completely release the clutch, don't ride it for seconds..

Yeah was my first donut. So I guess the best way to do donuts is with the clutch completely out not, peddling it so speak

Thanks a lot suspected the throwout bearing once the noise went away after I put the clutch in. I swapped out a clutch on a 93 Mustang and It was a mechanical linkage. I'm sure this is way more complicated.

Oh well prolly giving up donuts for now. Its was like a fat chick. Seems like a good idea..... until ur done.

Title of this thread had me confused for a bit. It's all good now. Yeah, like mentionned above, always fully release clutch prior to donuting ! :)

This is why I'd never buy a used GT350. :eyebulge:

And the clutch has been identified as a weak point the the drive train.

This car doesn't have the extreme power and it hooks up to well to do donuts without moving much,

Hey there is a learning curve when it come to proper donut technique but yes, bit of a fail. Needless to say last time I try that. :headbonk:
