I have had this kit for 7 months, still in box. Will I get the new tune or old one?

Not sure.

Original calibration file:
GR3A-SEMA2M-FA1_1FA6P8CF0F5345356_05DE.pc3

Revised calibration file:
GR3A-SEMA2M-FA2_1FA6P8CF0F5345356_05DE.pc3

My guess is that you get to download both and choose. Let us know what you find.

Note these numbers are for 2015 MT GT. Maybe slightly different for other years or spec. Point is only diff is FA1 or FA2 part.

I flashed the revision tune today. It is absolutely spot on. No Rev hang at all. I actually think it's better than the stock tune. Acceleration feels just as strong as the 1st pp2 tune. I couldn't be happier! Tomorrow morning will be the true test when the engine is cold. I can't stop beating on it!

Lots of folks reporting that their "new" PP2 tune ends in FA2. Mine ends in 5A2...maybe the "5A2" is unique to 2017 manuals? I think my tune is learning, or bedding in. during my 80-mile round trip commute today it felt much better and there was no rev hang once warmed up and just a little before that.

The power is just beastly. I got a chance to open it up in 5th on an open stretch of highway. Lets' just say it was eye-opening.

Ok, there has been a lot of discussion about whether or not water can enter the CAI box during parking and driving in the rain / snow... It seems the general concensus is that it won't be a problem. But here's my question: what is the best way to seal up the CAI when washing / rinsing the engine bay?

I have no problem with the stock GT sound. I don't suppose anyone with stock exhaust has recorded the before and after PP2 sound for comparison?

GR3A-SEMA2M-GP2-VIN-0A99 I'm assuming that's the new one, anyone else do their own install and can post up their calibration for comparison...size of file is 3MB vs 6.6MB of initial tune.
I just updated mine tonight. Didn't have an original file (shop didn't use my computer).

My tune is GR3A-SEMA2M-GP2-VIN-0577 and looks to be 6.0MB. From reading through the thread I believe this is the updated tune.

My first suggestion would be to wrap a plastic bag around the filter, but it might be way too easy to forget it's there before you close the hood and start it up.

I guess maybe a piece of cardboard cut to fit inside the airbox would help. That and trying not to spray water directly inside, obviously.

Funny you asked this b/c I was just thinking yesterday "I need to detail this engine....it's looking dusty" and the open airbox issue immediately came to mind.

I'm happy to report that my tune seems to have "learned itself" or whatever the terminology is. My rev hang is gone, even when cold. That said, it's 80 degrees here at 5:00AM, so I can't comment on how the car will behave in "real cold" temps.

My engine note has definitely changed. I have an xpipe and prior to PP2, while cruising at 65mph in 6th you could sort of hear the pipe gurgling away under the center console. It was a higher pitched type sound. Now the sound has deepened considerably ....more "throaty" and the location of the sound, if you will, has shifted to under hood. It will take a little getting used to.

The combination of increased throttle response with the accompanying intake purr or howl, depending on how deep you put your foot in it, is just awesome. Very happy with PP2!

Boys i am from seattle.. and mother nature loves this place with rain.. so don worry abt it.. i have done multiple experiments with it.. water does not go in... until u take a hose do a 40 degreen and shove water inside like full flow.. still only like 20% will go in.

+1 on the K&N cover. I posted a pic a while ago for those interested in seeing how it fits. Also had the part number in there as well. Personally I never experienced a soaked filter after some rain but the cover will help those few drops roll right off.

This thread is THE source of information on the FP Power Packs...such a great resource, even for seemingly unimportant "facts" like does the air filter/air box get wet? We all know that if you're reading this thread, nothing is unimportant!

I just washed the car in my driveway. Standard garden hose/bucket type wash, but I really soak the car when I wash it by hand. The engine was not ice cold at the time of the wash, but not really hot enough to evaporate any water that got underhood.

After drying the car I popped the hood and checked the air filter and airbox...with a flashlight and touching the filter. Bone dry. Not a drop anywhere.

I did NOT push my luck and shove the garden hose right into the little grill on the driver's side hood vent and spray until the car floated away. I washed the car like normal, no special care.

This was a very happy moment, folks! It's a keeper!

I love the upgraded tune. I get more grumbling and pop also now. The driveability is soooo much better also.
