Drive it however you want. If most of the break-in crap was legit you'd have cars all over the world exploding. The human element is considered when they design these things, and any rational human wants to floor that car at the first good opportunity. I waited until the second day.

Is everyone else Stang noticeably slower in normal drive mode opposed to Sport? It flies/accelerates beautifully in sport mode, normal mode not so much

Mine doesn't.

To the OP - lots of good replies here and I personally went with the varied approach. I started to baby it if truth be told. Then after I brought her home my better half took her for a spin and it was game over. She had that thing all over the RPM range and power band. She pulled into the garage, got out, tossed me the keys, and smiled.

It's equally as fast when not in sport mode?

2015 GT/PP - stock. With the 3.73's it is hard to tell. I'm not a drag or track expert but she seems to pull the same to me. Especially when she is in the power band.

Maybe it is just me. I'll tell you this, I guarantee you that that I could tape a 50 dollar bill on the dash board and you couldn't grab it. She will plant you into the recaro's until I lift. I can only imagine the guys here with modifications in suspension and FI with their power.

But yeah - she seems similar to me sport or normal.

Sport mode only changes throttle response and TC settings, has no effect on power.

Varying engine speed is the only thing that makes sense.

Think about it people:
logic and reason dictates if new cars should not be taken to red line until "x" number of miles, then tens of millions of cars all over the world would have blown/damaged engines and the manufacturers would all be bankrupt overnight.

It's the same with the "let the rpm's come down on cold start before going anywhere."

That's a different thing entirely.

The PP Pirellis do take a few hundred miles to get all the junk off them. Not that youre going to damage them if you rip it, just know that you wont have as good as traction until then, I could tell a huge difference after a few hundred miles

Like I keep telling everyone in these threads, I took my car to autocross at 200 miles. I also got my brakes bedded in VERY nicely because of that.

I just mean there's a big paranoia about it when it's really a non issue, as is the case with the break-in period. There was an entire thread here where a guy's engine was revved a couple times after a cold start by a dealership tech and people were acting like it was the end of the world. Come on..

And let's be honest..the rev sound when cold is the best one. So smooth and effortlessly beautiful growl.
