Re-look at the Eco-Boost

Oh, okay. I was like D*MN, I wish they had a tune like that for the GT's!! Mine stock was 378rwhp, but I've seen guys post higher. The guy I hang with sometimes who lives across town took me in his EB a few times. It seems pretty snappy and nimble. He has a Cobb tune and seems to like it.

Its a fun car for sure, looks good. Sound is not great though. I've played the 5.0 game and I wanted something I could drive year round for a 60 mile commute. I don't regret my choice one bit, nobody you talk to except on this forum and youtube comments seem to have an axe to grind with the ecoboost.

If I waited a year I might have ended up with a GT, I got my ecoboost for 26 OTD with premium package, while I couldn't find a single GT, even base model within 100 miles of me for under 40 grand. Now the dealer I go to has a brand new 17 GT/PP sitting in front for 32k.

Guys, this is the same price as a Fiesta ST with almost 2x the horsepower and you won't get laughed at while driving it.

If you've never driven one you should, it's a 200hp go cart! The wife prefers it to our old Supra but I really prefer the Mustang!

26k OTD with the premium package doesn't sound bad to me. And yeah, it figures that NOW there's a GT PP sitting there for 32k after you already bought yours. That's what I paid for my GT PP, $32.4 to be exact. With the stripes and nickel luster wheels.

But how did the article find those prices? Checked all over the SW and nothing even close to 20K

I don't know if anyone answered your question, but a nationwide search will yield you some great prices. Around the DC metro area, there's a ton of deals on EB and 3.7. You can get a 3.7 manual around here for under $20K starting negotiation price. Sometimes it's worth booking a one way ticket and going cross country for a better deal. Drive it back home and go on a nice road trip. A lot of dealers will even pick you up from the airport. Whenever I shop for cars, I shop nationwide. Sometimes a one way flight is the only thing between you and a great deal.

Exactly right. I flew to Newport News, Va. because of a deal Hall Ford made me. They picked us up at the airport, signed the papers, went out to eat at a nice place and stayed the night. Drove it home the next day.

Goddamn that's a killer deal. That dealer also has new GT's for 28k.
It's crazy, here in Cali I can't find a new GT for less than 32k. Average price for even a base GT is 34k.

Yes, Fiesta ST is a fun little car. I know because I own one. It makes the winter days of not driving the GT350 much easier!

Was that stretch of 37mpg all downhill, while in gear, not using the skinny pedal? Otherwise, how? Lol

I did round trips on the interstate a few times with cruise control set at 60mph. Yep it'll do 37mpg if you can do that without dying of boredom behind the wheel.
