You got it! Just follow the Steps 1-4 on page 9 of 14 in the "ProCal 3 Instructions".

Then when you get to the shop, start with Step 1 on page 10 of 14.

Doing it this way will eliminate the need for your laptop to be connected to the Internet at the shop when installing. If you don't download the tune ahead of time, you'll have to get your laptop connected to the Internet when the go to install it because it has to be connected to your car and the Internet to download the tune to your laptop only.

Quick question. I had this done today at the dealer with my laptop, which I left with them...I wasn't present for the flash.

Is there any way to verify they actually programmed it? The reason I ask is I was under the impression that PC3 backed up the current tune config to the hard drive before programming it with the power pack tune. When I checked the \Configurations directory, there is only one file in there and it's the same name as the file I downloaded with the voucher, albeit a different size and dated today's date:

File present after coming back from the dealer:

Since the date is the updated, I assume they did something...just curious if the file name stayed the same for you guys and what all the extra ~4MB of data might be (learned mappings?).

At worst, I could go back in and reflash it now that I have a service ticket for the warranty.

I just realized that they never gave me the calibration unit (or whatever) after they did my install. That's supposed to be mine to keep, right? I assumed it was in the trunk, but it's definitely not.

Waiting on an answer to my question, so I'll answer yours.

They charged me 2hr labor ($190) to install the tune and airbox. I was going to do the airbox myself but it's a small price to pay to not have them bitch about the warranty. I'm pretty sure 2hr is what the book says to replace an intake, so that's what they charge you regardless of how long it takes. I did read in the thread that some folks had installed the CAI themselves and the dealer didn't say anything about it...I didn't want to take the chance.

Yes, you should have got your OBD2 interface back...that's yours.

Good news! They did the tune correctly. That is the way it works. You download the tune file. Then the PC3 downloads the stock tune from the ECU and combines it into the downloaded file. Then it will proceed to load the tune into the ECU. I think they do it this way so you won't lose the stock tune.

The problem with this and where it gets a little confusing for me is when you download an updated tune. Mine was done in December. When I downloaded the updated tune file yesterday, it downloaded in the same folder and called it the same file name. At least it looked identical, maybe there was something hidden. It it was identical, it should have over-written the file. The way I could tell them apart was the date stamp. Now I have 2 files that look like the same file name close to the same size with 2 different date stamps. At this point I'm guessing and hoping that somehow the stock tune is also embedded in the second file as well and it didn't just embed the first version of the tune into the second version of the tune as the fall-back.

I doubt they will just update the tune for you for free unless they can find a way to charge FP. IMO, the only way they could charge FP is if it was exhibiting a problem and they had to load the tune to correct a problem. The dealer would have to call FP and get an authorization to do the work and charge them. They made it easy enough for the user to do though and the instructions are embedded in the software (the question mark) but they DEFINITELY need to give you that OBDII interface adapter and the cable that came with it.

Yeah, you're right, I missed that and it makes more sense. If the file name was the same, it would have overwritten the first one. Mine are just a little different, BZA/BZB instead of CBA/CBB.

lol its louder than stock but still not nearly as loud as others like MAP, mishimoto, etc. I had a mishimoto before and it sounded way better/louder IMO

If you mean louder than stock, yes. Actually the BPV doesn't get louder, going from the stock closed intake box to the GT350 open intake box makes it so you can hear the BPV more when it releases.
