Nice! Have you changed out shifters in either car? Thoughts on the difference in transmissions?
I have not changed shifters, I had the opportunity a month Bach when I had the McLeod twin disk and shafts replaced on my PP. That did give the PP a little more of a 350 feeling clutch. I'm going to probably be the only one to say, I like the MT82 and the feel. Yes it's a bit notchy and a little query but I like the feel of it.
Now to compare the MT to the Tremec is no comparison. But the Tremec has its little qureks too. My biggest problem driving either car is, ill short shift the 350 at times and then get in my PP and bounce it of the shut off limiter. lol

after the MGW and BG fluids, i had no issue with the mt82. liked it much better than the tremec (3550 or 3650 can't remember) that was in my last fox body.

and yeah i can see where they'd be quite different going back and forth like you can lol...was watching a YouTube vid and somebody thought the 350 owner took off in 2nd it was such a long pull before a shift could be heard...nothing like a PP with 3.73

I'm not 100% positive how the warranty works if i go used...does it transfer ownership? are the 350s a 3yr/36k deal like my GT was?

i voided my GTPP warranty with 8k on it, i just couldn't stand it...and could not have been happier after my first taste of headers/CAI/lund tune/e85, all of that at once made a HUGE difference

Yes the manufacturer warranty follows the car. One thing though, if you get a gt350 used don't mod it until you're certain the oil cooler issue has been addressed. I think there's a recall.

Yes on about 8000 of them, mine is done though. I still have no interest in modding the 350 at all.

better price out a GT350 engine / short block before you get to modding. The OPG topic generated some debate in the GT350 section.

i don't even know what hpde stands for, but i have owned other mustangs and fast motorcycles that i didn't exactly baby. i've driven much higher HP cars and never had an issue. this is an isolated incident and my first at fault wreck ever.
You should LEARN what HPDE (High Performance Drivers Education) stands for by attending a few of them.

Shit happens. You hit black ice, you hit oil slicks, dust, gravel, etc... all kinds of road hazzard. Deer can jump in front of you, etc. The point is... IF YOU practice pushing your car to the limits in a controlled environment with an instructor, you learn how to react better EVERYWHERE. (not just on the track)

So when/if you ever get in trouble again, you learn how to recover with out smashing your car in to a wall.

Everyone can always learn to be a better driver.

You're generally grouped in to:
Beginner- newbie - GREEN
novice with instructor -BLUE
novice without instructor - BLUE (good enough to drive on the track with instructor)
advanced - YELLOW
race group - RED - can pass anywhere on track with out a point by

I've been ok to drive with out an instructor for years (BLUE group ok'd for w/o instructor), but I still always ask for one whenever possible b/c I know I can learn more and still am a novice in the big scheme of things. I haven't pushed to be promoted as I want to keep getting as much coaching as possible.

To be cavalier and think well its never happened before, it should never happen again is just asking for trouble. Your odds of it happening again will increase as you increase horsepower as you're about to do.

Back to the point, admit your (High Performance) driving skills need work and take some classes.

Boosted GT....

GT350 is special and unique, but I see no point of owning one unless you plan to keep it till you're 70 and selling it for tons for your Grandkids future OR you are using it for it's intended purposes... Even boosted the GT350 is still meh in a straight line.

Don't even get me started on how much assembling the motor would cost you since they don't sell them as crate motors. For a Block ( No internals) and CHS ( No Cams ) you're looking at near 9k alone. I don't even want to know how much a replacement Crank would cost if you get the itch to boost and something goes horribly wrong due to a bad tune..

If you get the 350 just know you'll be paying for that uniqueness every step of the way.

I geared down to 3rd to pass and there was no traction to be had...burnout at 50mph got me like
You have 3.73 gear?

If you're a road course guy get the GT350, it will also have better resale value.

If you're a straight line race or drag racer, get an auto GT, opg, single turbo kit from CPR, or EDP

Shit if i had the money I would get an R and an auto with a single turbo. Of course they would be 2nd/3rd to the Viper.
