FI GT or GT350??

I'm telling you go beg borrow or steal a way to test drive a 350. The Mag Ride has 3 very notable modes. 2 a little less notice is the track to sport Ride, go into normal mode and no more chop and bounce. If you never driven one pretty hard to make that statement that that's not that noticeable or irrelevant to someone asking your opinion. The easiest way to explain it to you guys that I can, and can tell do not like the 350 that much, it's the Z 28 to the Camaro. You can mod that Camaro all day long with go fast parts, but at the end of the day it's still just a Camaro.

And your 350 isn't just a mustang? Lol

Gt350 is a track car. That's were it performs the best. I'm sure it wasn't built with grocery trip comfort in mind.

Yes it's on a s550 chassis as is the Z28 on a Camaro chassis, then they improved it 10 fold in handling and breaking, gave it this voodoo FPC engine, that even on a good tune and CAI has 60 more horse than a coyote, and rev's for ever it seems. I'm not knocking the PP, again I got one. If the op is looking for F/I again he should get it, there is nothing wrong with it, tons of torque high horse power and a bunch of fun. Reading the original post though my opinion would be get the 350, it's just a complete car. There is a reason car reviews compare the Mustangs to Camaro's and the 350's to the Porsches and Audi R8' and McLarens.

It sounds to me like you just don't like the GT350.... The guy is in a unique position to give his opinion on the two cars the OP was asking about. Relax a little bud.

The only way I can describe the MagneRide is with one word... "unnatural". Normal everyday driving you will not notice it, but once you get into some speed with transitions on the road, dear god its like a giant go-kart.

But the biggest surprise to me is how much of a daily driver the GT350 is. It's a two-face, if you will. You can keep it in Normal mode, quiet exhaust, keep it under 3k rpms and no one is the wiser. -OR- You can set it to sport mode, rip the exhaust open, and rev that shit to the heavens. It is literally the quietest and loudest car that I own.

I love my Roush charged PP, it's a great car! Im still on the phase 1 675 hp and I still don't think I've used all the horses it has. Trying to keep that car planted is a chore. I actually love F/I of any kind, I have 4 vehicles between my wife and I and the only one not F/I is my 350, yes my wife's SUV is SC'ed! Lol. I'm just trying to explain the difference between the 2, and in my opinion the 350 is a much more fun car to drive day in and day out. They for being on the same s550 platform are so different.
As for the Mag Ride, its supposed to be offered on the 18 refresh PP's,it will %100 improve that cars driving characteristics!
The OP might want to put off the purchase of a new Mustang until the 18's are out with the improvements in suspension and a boost in HP?

Didn't the OP say he didn't plan on doing much racing?:shrug: So a purpose built track car as a grocery getter on ratty ass public streets. iIs about a useful as a wet fart in a sand storm. You two are both selling your point a little to hard.

I'll just flat tell OP again,, I have both a 15 PP Roush SC'ed phase 1 675 hp and a 16 gt350 track package. I much prefer the 350, it is by far my favorite of the 2. If you'd like any specific info on either or why just PM me I'd be happy to give you pro's and cons of each. Or you can let guys give you opinions that have never even driven a 350.
Yes the 350 does have a few con's that were touched on as far as back side cost as does the F/I Mustang.

I rest my case. I still recommended it if the OP has the means to do it. Would be nice to see a 550+whp gt350. Should still be reliable and fun without punishing the bottom end too much. FI for me with an auto was always the goal so the GT was what i wanted, I would've considered a GT350 at the time if dealers weren't robbing people blind for one.

after i built my jeep, i would see others come in and do it way better and sometimes i wanted a blank slate. i got one this time, just not in a manner i ever hope to go through again. problem is, I'm not sure I'd do anything different besides the power adder and supporting stuff for it. i enjoyed just driving it anywhere....which is why the 350 intrigues me, because it seems to be all about the driving experience (if that makes sense).

the 18MY, i just don't know if i could get over that front fascia...they did lower the hood line which looked pretty good IMO. but I've been seeing 17MY premiums 6MT for 34k...that's not bad i didn't think. i also have a chance to get a 17MY 350 at MSRP which I also thought was not a bad deal.

I recently wrecked the nicest car I've ever owned(16 GTPP full exhaust, tune, e85). It was and is still sickening to me, but I'm ok and no one was hurt...sooo time to get back in the saddle...

My plans all along were to put a PD blower on the car, unless i found a centri for a deal i couldn't pass up. Finding out i would be a father put a temporary hold on this.

By my math i was into the GTPP 49k, after the blower you're looking to get close to 60k after supporting mods and tires.

I'm finding barely used GT350s getting close to 50k (a new one offered to me at right over 60k) and i believe headers and a tune would make me plenty happy on one of those. I read a lot of good things about them, just curious if they are that much more special than the car i loved.


So I'm just looking for opinions basically, i drive a 2 lane country highway or have the option for a more curvy backroad as my work commute, maybe 25-30 miles one way...Would you make a beast of a GT since you loved the last one, or would you save a tad(maybe sell a motorcycle) and get a GT350?

Buy neither! Wait for the 2018 mustang gt or save yourself some money and get a brand new camaro 1le for just 40 grand if you think its a good looking car and have no brand loyalty. Honest opinion here, the gt350 is way overpriced for what it is. If you really want to save money, get a used gtpp and build it with force induction or cobra jet manifold, and handling packages! It will be both faster in the straight line and around the road coarse than a gt350 depending on the modes and rubber you put on it.

Id love to have a GT350 but I have no real use for it. I'd feel guilty buying it and just sticking it in a garage. Instead of using it for its intended purpose. I don't have the wallet to be a full time drag racer and road racer.
