So the Viper is sold and my plan was to find a used GT350 and just enjoy driving a car that attracts a little less attention.

Then I start reading about all the transmission temperature problems. And if I am reading the various threads correctly; this has been corrected in '17 model but the '15-'16 is awaiting a part that may not be available until later this year?

Is this correct?

The 15 and 16 Track Pack cars don't have the problem, only the Tech Pack and Base models.

Thank you! I was afraid I was going to have to pursue a ZL1!

But are they slower thana GT350 stuck in "limp mode"?

The lap time debate is asinine at best.
I've won a club racing championship and I doubt my lap times would differ much between the two cars.

Not if you get a Track Pack or a 2017+

You can find a good low mile used Track Pack 16 for around 55k now.

I'd get the zl1 if you want to go more unnoticed.

I was surprised to read in Motor Trend the car weighs 3933lbs.

I had a stripeless, twin turbo, 1200rwhp GT500 in 2010, I am quite comfortable driving a wolf in sheep's clothing.

Rlhay2, there are several dealers in the DFW area that have cars on hand at no markup. PM me for some info on them- I'm in Dallas as well. Also, they don't have an oil cooler recall issue that is hanging over most of us, as an extra added bonus. BTW, how are you going deal with half the horsepower of your previous Shelby? LOL

I'm not. The previous car weighed 4200.

If a base 1SS weighs 3690, and add a blower, plus an intercooler, additional radiators, bigger auxiliary coolers for the trans and the rear end, bigger tires, bigger wheels, bigger brakes, beefier driveline, beefier trans and all the fluids? 240 lbs comes in hot pretty fast.

It'll take some adjustment but I can look forward to the tires (325 M&H) NOT breaking loose above 90+mph!!

Just finished a day at MSR. Weather was perfect, 78 degrees and sunny. Installed the Shelby transmission scoop I suppose it help, a little. Got about a 20min session in before limp mode. Better than just a few laps but the killer is that the car cut power right when when I was really getting in to my rhythm. I hope Ford fixes asap.
