Tesla style head unit for the S550?

ah, ok. was curious if someone had gotten this and was able to look at the connections it offers. Im thinking as long as there is the connection/options in the UI for it, than you can add it.

Im thinking if the SAT radio component is built in (like the stock Premium model) it will just be the antenna that needs to be connected. The Purple plug below. If it doesnt have that component built in, then im thinking it will need to have the vehicle connect package, SXV300, which will use the other connector below. This is the package you need for most aftermarket HU's that are Sirius XM ready.

I would love to be able to add SAT radio but since mine is a base I'm doubtful.

There are a number of unused connections both on the box and with the connectors. Immsure one of them leads to sat nav

Adding SAT isnt exactly hard, it can be done a few ways, i just want it to be in the unit, not using an external SAT radio. Crossing my fingers one in already built in. Maybe if its not someone with some experience can add it?

I can assure you that if you have the Base Radio without SatRad, adding it wouldn't be a simple venture, without an external unit.

Hey Patrick, did you talk to the guy at all about color options? Looking at the manual, it seems there's a silver/glossy option. So far I've only seen a matte black one in the pictures here and elsewhere.

I would prefer the glossy silver one to match the rest of my interior accents if that's an option

As far as I know, they only sell red and black right jow, but I can check with him.

Thanks, check out the pics in the PDF. It doesn't seem red or black to me. The left pic under step 4 of the last page looks silver/glossy.

That's because it's dark. It's actually a copperish color, matching the control box. It's an unfinished product in the manual.
