It is for people buying V8's, I would think.

Total sales lump 4cyl, V6 and V8's all in together.

The new Camaro is the better performing car. You can debate sales, the size of the trunk (?) or whatever else, but for enthusiasts, the Camaro is a winner.

For now.
And yet, they sell more V8 mustangs than camaros. There is more to a car than performance. Most of us in these forums understand that.

It's funny. Most of us in here purchased the mustang knowing it is slower than the Camaro. What does that tell you?

Camaro. If you get a bad Mustang then the "I told you so's" and the "my car is better than your car" stuff starts and the next thing you know the lawyers have all of your money because you're all up in court arguing custody of the dog.

That you're loyal to a brand - as are most.

But looking at it objectively, at this current time, the Camaro is the better choice if you're looking for performance.

Funny thing is, I have owned far more GM vehicles than Ford. Brand loyal, I am not.

I don't disagree, the Camaro is the better choice if performance is your only criteria. That does not make it the better vehicle though. Faster, yes. More impractical, yes. Les comfortable? Yes. I can for two bags of golf clubs in my s550 trunk. Good luck doing that with the Camaro.

I'm an enthusiast. I race all of my cars often. I wouldn't be caught dead in a Camaro. Until they fix the visibility. I'd bet you a weeks pay. there was more Mustang GTs sold this year. Compared to SS Camaros.

Maybe. But right now, the Camaro is on top as far as the performance numbers go.

My .02
I've owned both, older models.
Test drove both 6 gens (2ss vs gtpp manuals) within a couple days of each other
In the camaro I did notice the lower visibility but it didn't really bother me. I loved the "bunker" feeling. I didn't like the interior, it just felt... mashed together. The ride did feel "tighter" and I liked that was well.

The mustang felt better put together, I loved the seats and seating position in relation to the seat, me, gear shift, and steering wheel. Center stack was easier to deal with as well. I didn't care how the camaro's buttons were so little, placed so low and spread out.

Again I like being more "in" the car camaro vs mustang, but that mustang still checked more boxes for me, personally.

I will say the one thing I walked away with from the camaro was how I truly disliked the seats. To me it felt like there was a springy metal bar under my ass. It didn't hurt, just felt writers and uncomfortable. And this coming from a focus st with really tight bolsters. Over everything else that's what I remember most :-/. Sad thing is I really like the Chevy blue... But color is down the list for me.

I think since you're supercharging it'd make more sense to go 5.0. I think the mustang auto after a tune is very snappy and responsive from the very short time I spent in one, as my car is a manual. I think with a tune and some suspension bits you'd be very happy with the car until you go boost. The main reason the mustang is a little mushy stock to stock compared to the camaro is the boatlike suspension setup they come with stock. Some springs (shocks are great too!) and BMR CB005 turn it into an excellent handling platform that can put its power down very effectively and feel very tight and direct, yet still comfortable. I've always had small handling focused cars, and I'd bet my bottom dollar my mustang could handle with the best of them after my relatively short list of suspension mods. Either way you go, you'll be happy. I just have seen wayyyyy too many LT1's blown and have serious issues to trust them as much as the 5.0's relatively bulletproof reputation.

Op you already have a Camaro, you dont need his/hers license plates. You already have an F-150. The stock to stock comparison doesn't matter because everyone and their mothers mods their cars for more power. Get the mustang gt but get the automatic...you already have a stick car, when you supercharge it you will go faster then the manual. When dd you need visability. The mustang will be easier to live with in the long run...

If I was buying today, it would be a 1LE Camaro.

Remember the LT1 is a newer engine than the Coyote. It doesn't have as much development time from the aftermarket.
