Mishimoto iduction hose

Has anyone on here tried one of these yet? I see there new, wasn't sure if they were any better then the air raid induction tube or worth the money at all

It's the same thing. I have the Airaid and I noticed a little difference when I installed it. The Mishimoto is more convenient because it will have a tiny bit of flex in the hose. With the airaid, since there is no longer the accordion and it's hard plastic, you have to take the whole tube off to get the box open to replace the panel filter.

Get the Mishimoto and put a panel filter in the stock air box and then get a tune.

Kelly from BMR has the above setup with a tune and is doing around 11.7@117mph quarter miles, the stock air box is very effective with a good tune.

I also have that setup from the presale! Totally worth it, downside is in winter at wot, i m running a little lean at the midrange due to more o2 and airflow! I don't want to bother with a retune just for that though! Mishimoto tube plus afe pro 5r rocks My last logs showed amost half a second reduction compared to stock with a flex fuel tune running 93 octane 3rd gear pull from 2000 rpm to 6500 rpm! Haven't had a chance to test it on the strip yet!

I notice many people are on the dry filter kick, but I love a good 'ole oiled filter.

And yes, I went [email protected] with the Mishi Tube and K&N drop in. The only other mods are a tune and Pypes Mufflers (stock everything else) ;)

Its a solid combo, also has lovely smooth throttle combined with sharp throttle response.

You should not lean out though as the maf sensor will be reporting any additional flow, but if your tuned just log it and get some feedback from the tuner, they will know best.

^ Yup. It is an emailed tune from Ken @ Palm Beach Dyno.

I think I am going to put some LT headers on the car (catted) and may actually take the car to him at some point and "dial in" the tune.

Would be cool to see how LT headers pair with the mods I listed above. I have Pypes 1-3/4 to 1-7/8" stepped LT with their hi-flow cats on the shelf.

You could be the guy that tries the aFe LT headers... I cannot find ANYONE who went with those. Their power increase names are without a tune, oddly. But they look different than others. So... you try them, let us know.

Thinking about getting the Mishimoto hose vs the intake...my concern is not peak power, but for better driveability and smoother/better throttle response.

Is it worth getting the intake over the hose? for double the price?

Nothing is smoother than the stock intake. I tried PMAS, GT 350 and stock. For drive ability the stock intake is the smoothest and sharpest for sure. So based on that get an oiled filter and Mishimoto tube, you get some power increase and retain smooth driving.
