Custom made bump box specifically for the 6R80. Looking good so far. Some small adjustments but looking really good so far.

Like a transbrake? I thought 6R80 does not like transbrake. It cracks the housing and damages the parts.

Thats what I read on this forum last night ? Even seen some pics of damage. You have to remember everything is desingned these days for its purpose. No like gm th400 wich was built tough because they put it behind everything. Our cases can not handle two gears loaded at once would be my guess why it cracked :frusty:

It's not the transbrake that is breaking things. The guy in the video has been using it for 3+ years and been 1.2x 60' foot, 8.21 at almost 170. Fastest 6R80 there is and hasn't popped on yet. A lot of guys shake the tires and that grenades trannies also.

Got a link to destruction?

Yep. Common but not that transbrake's fault. Betting he broke it @ 5k-7k in first gear. One way roller that holds first is in the very back right under that cracked case. One broke last week when he shook the tires.
This one broke the hollow shaft. Theory is first gear is too weak despite the steep ratio. (Reason we are trying second gear leave. Completely avoid first gear.) It breaks, then cause more damage forward in drum, planetary, and tube. This one broke at the top of first gear also.

That's theory anyways. On a side note, everyone else runs a different brake than we do also. The public version doesn't work well w a bump box at all. It was a generic version set out to undermine the one we developed. This brake releases much faster and doesn't drag thru one of the drums that hasn't fully released when leaving. At first we thought we'd see a lot more failures because of it. Some have broken some odd things in the trannies but not sure that that is the cause yet.

Dustin at least they were willing to try and share what they figured out. I doubt it was meant to undermine, maybe give people an option as opposed to being forced to buy your kit.You make a great kit but still dont see why you force someone to buy your kit in order to benefit from something your figuring out that could help out others. People are spending the money on the jms product. I'd much rather buy something like that from the guy/guys devoloping it than jms that just copied it.

He is a buisness and that knowledge isnt exactly free. You pay for that knowledge. Its one of the pros of being the first to figure it out. Stop complaining

I'm not complaining. I'm even willing to pay for that knowledge. What part of me being willing to pay did you not understand???? But make me pay 7000 plus remove my twins and oh well tough shit, you should've bought mine even though it wasn't available. He makes a great kit. If it would've been an option I would've bought it in a minute. It wasn't.

trust me, with the months and years of talking shit prior to that it wasn't out of the goodness of their heart.
No one is forced to buy a kit. Especially now w the other option out there. But I'm not in the business to make the competitions customers faster. To be honest I'm not sure why people couldn't see why I wouldn't do it. No one gets mad if you ask a tuner for a file out of part of their tune and they tell you "no." You don't want the whole tune, just the part that makes their tune superior. I'm just not interested in 200 more new customers at 100 dollars a pop profit. I simply don't have time to sell or support post sale on tech. And that was even at 100 dollar profit. Once people saw how easy it was they would just be pissed. Mine is even easier than the public version. Making anything less than 100 surely wouldn't have been worth it. So I've just told my guys how to do it along w parts needed. They get the benefit and I don't have to do any of it lol

Fwiw no one should not be making that brake in an electronic version. It's dangerous AF and can lead to transmission failure or worse. Solid state relays are a very bad idea in this case. Very bad. But you have to truly understand how this works to know it's dangerous. Someone just saw an opportunity to take a simple design and fancy it up, and charge 200 dollars.
