A combination of both. Going a little larger in the front will lessen the factory understeer and also allow you to rotate the tires front and rear.

I ran 305/30ZR19's up front on 11" 6gr wheels and 325/30ZR19 in the rear on 11.5 6gr wheels.

No noticeable oversteer or understeer tendencies. All tires seemed to wear about evenly. Set camber to R spec race settings.

The car (in R fashion) did exhibit some tramlining. Nothing horrible.

If I could only have 1 set it would be the pss, OP is looking at a second set for track that he can still drive to the track with, in his case I believe there are better options than pss

Not for his skill level though based on what he has described. No point to chewing up $500 tires that will last only one season and not be able to get everything out of them.

This is my question the stock PSS are very expensive, track tires will cost you less the the stock tires. So is there any reason to run the PSS on the track?

I run Hankook RS3 V2's, 305/30-19 all the way around and for the money, I'm very impressed.. Great all 'rounder tire for my autocross and track skills. I think next year I'll be getting another set of wheels for track and autocross and throwing the RS3's on them and the PSS's back on the factory wheels for the street.

In my opinion it would be more beneficial to run re11 in 305/30/19 all around, little less money than the pss, I'm my experience litter bet better on track performance and longevity, and the square setup will make sure op gets his money's worth with a rotation as needed

I should add that my track is very demanding on brakes and tire, section of it is comparable to auto cross, maybe I would have been happier with the pss on a longer, high speed track, now I save the pss for the street

My new wheel setup is 305 all around


When you do say 295 f and 315 r you'll make the car prone to understeer since the front wheels will lose grip first.

The project 6 r specs are 11" and 11.5", but I don't know about the clearance

Of all the tires mentioned so far, the PSS is almost certainly the most capable tire in the wet, and probably better at cooler temperatures as well.


They do seem to wear well. After somewhere over 4000 street miles (not necessarily mildly driven miles) and ten track days (about another 1200 miles of extreme abuse) my track set is still less than half worn (probably an event or so past their prime, but they're still datalogging above 1.2g's lateral at my home track). 285/35's on 18x11's.

I'd rate myself as basically an intermediate-level driver but have run with the faster guys at my home track's own events and most recently with H.O.D.

I will mention that I put over a thousand street miles on them before hitting the track, which I'm pretty sure has helped keep them from chunking or otherwise deteriorating.

Rain? WOT in 3rd gear, TC turned off, car does not even have stability control. There's a little of somebody else's excitement starting around 11:00.

Some of you seem to be running 305/30/19 instead of 305/35/19.
Any particular impact you felt (other than the slight change in perimeter probably affecting the speedo ?) ?
If no major issue, that opens to more tire choice at a lower price.
