Update: It took nearly 200 miles of driving but the program is working as expected. I do not have good times for you as our temps have dropped and my tires will not hook up. The car is now fun to drive. The power is much more linear all the way to redline. The torque improvement is very greatly appreciated. The car sets you in the seat and pulls pretty good throughout the rpm range.

I had an opportunity to go head to head with a 2015 GT PP/MT. We conducted several runs at different speeds and states. While the GT is faster it is not much faster at all. Very close. If I catch a GT sleeping I can beat them to any legal speed limit.

I do not understand why it took so long to learn the program but I can say I am very happy with the purchase today.
Is your car stock other than the FP Calibration?

My car was so flat that I felt like I wasted my money. Keep driving and once it kicks in you will be grinning from ear to ear!

My car was worse then stock for about 30 miles, almost went back to the dealer to bitch them out for screwing up my car.
The next day it was a whole new car, worth every penny to me.:clap2:

That's good to know. I was just wondering though if you had any other mods. You compared your FP tuned PP EB to a stock GT PP and said you could almost match it. I was wondering if you had other mods like an upgraded Inter Cooler etc.

You'll probably edge out a stock GT with a FMIC and a few other FP / Stock tune compatible bolt on's such as an upgraded Diverter Valve such as the DV+ (holds boost better, reduces surging between shifts for faster recovery). All these little tweaks come togeather to make a fast car. I can't wait to get thing on the dyno in Jan.

Fox's dyno showed 397wtq and 325whp. That's around 30 ft-lbs more than a bone stock GT at the wheels (368ft-lbs for the mighty 5.0), but he had an upgraded FMIC, which provided a significant boost in both power and torque due to better flow / pressure drop and eliminating heat soak. It makes a bigger difference in EB's that most people think, even the stock PCM can push notably better numbers, especially at the top end.

If these cars are actually putting down as much torque and power at the wheels with the final release of the FP Cal as Fox's beta FP Cal, there's no reason you can't get into the 12's with an auto and maybe even with a manual with the right gearing, tires and driver. Those numbers are on par with Livernois dyno's, their auto (tune only) ran 12.67 and that was an early version which has since been revised and improved. Yes, I'm SPECULATING, but with real data at least.

Supposedly it takes several hundred to fully adjust. If you under a 200 ish miles you're not done yet...:D

A drive cycle is roughly 200 miles on these cars. I'd wait till after 200-250 before I looked to judge performance.

What mods aren't compatible with the Pro Cal tune/stock tune? Is it just the downpipe and wastegate actuator?

I'm still debating if I want to drop $750 for this tune now(ish) versus waiting until I'm closer to the end of my warranty and getting a third party tune and just doing other go fast parts now.
I'm going to have to go third party eventually anyway if I intend to go FBO (which I do).

That's about what I figured, although I thought it was a little less at 100 to 150, but good to know! I'd say at least 1 full drive cycle then to adjust timing from the base line to the whats in your tank.

I can say that on a stock tune, it makes quite a bit of difference as the baseline is set for 87 (yuck!) and it's very anemic until it adjusts.

I wonder if the baseline for the FP tune is as conservative as the stock baseline? That might explain why it feels so anemic until a drive cycle is completed where as many aftermarket tunes are assuming a baseline of 91 right from the start.

Anything that isn't compatible with the stock PCM software or would require very specific re-calibration, so yes WGA, DP and Turbo upgrades are not stock compatible.

It really depends on how much warranty you have left, if it's only a year (10k-15kish) and you know your gonna do full bolt on's it might not be worth it.

For newer lower mileage cars like mine (11k), it's worth it for another 1.5~2 years, plus I can re-use the intake and I wanted to change the axel-ratio / revs per mile setting for different tires, so it worked out for me.

It's also a good default tune if you run into problems or to compare your after market tune to from a data logging standpoint to pinpoint a problem as being mechanical or tune related. For $450 I felt it was worth the peace of mind, convenience and versatility.

My dealer quoted me total of $819 with the parts and install. That sound about right?

I have no other mods at all. I will be installing a cat back exhaust later in the week though. Not sure if those do anything at all but we will see.

That sounds about how much they'd like to take from you yes but you can get it for a lot less. Buy the Performance Pack from Levittown Ford a sponsor here on the forum or from Steve Powell at Tasca Ford at a discount. Then find a ASE certified tech to do the install at a much more reasonable cost. Orrrrrr if you can install it yourself and get an ASE certified technician you have a good relationship with to verify it for you and sign off you could save a lot more.

Catback exhaust will not impact it at all.
