Picked up a 2015 GT vert last weekend and love it. Only issue is that it’s a little too quiet for me.

I swapped the resonator in favor of an H pipe but its still just a hair too quiet.

I know the easy solution is to change the mufflers. However I am moving deliberately here as I don’t want to have the car too loud or waste money swapping one mod for another.
I am literally just looking to wake up the sound a bit.

I remember the last car I put a CAI on had nice increase in sound. I realize it wasn’t exhaust sound but it did make the car louder. Could I expect that from either a JLT or PMAS intake?

I’d rather change the intake first to see if that cuts it for me, then change the mufflers if needed probably next spring. If none of you have noticed an increase I'l likely skip it all together.

You should hear an open intake especially on a vert and especially if your exhaust isn't super loud.

I remember installing the JLT on our 2015 when we first got it and it definitely was a noticeable difference.

Let us know if there's anything we can help you with.

Thanks, Jared

Just fitted a PMAS CAI and yes it has added a lot more volume to the car interior at heavy/full throttle and is also louder on outside too.

How much sound difference is there between an enclosed setup like AirRaid or C&L and an open element?

Anyone familiar with both types of CAI that can comment?

I installed a Steeda the other week, it did increase sound but I already have a Roush/X pipe on my car so that dwarfs out everything, even thunder. :D But when I added a CAI to my 4.7l v8 Jeep a few years ago it added a lot of sound, I even debated adding an exhaust after putting in the intake because it changed sound that much. So with a quieter exhaust it should be fairly noticeable.

The actual materials used for the air tube also play big role in noise, the PMAS added a lot o volume as the harmonics from the huge plastic tube added noise as did the open filter element. The noise the tube creates was not so much to my liking at WOT, its loud and bassy but not drone like thank god. With a sound tube though it might be too much!

I am now on the 350 CAI and have to say that intake sounds perfect, its louder but it just seems to amplify the engine throbbing noise and not just create a deep bassy drone like PMAS did, but PMAS was louder for sure and I know lots here love the PMAS for that. :)

I wouldn't know I can't hear my Pmas over my headers lol.

Depends on how loud your exhaust is as to whether you can even hear one or the other. Open element intakes are definitely noticably louder than closed box designs especially at wide open throttle. That said if you have loud exhaust especially with headers you won't hear even the loudest open intakes.

Stop teasing, there are still no RHD headers in the UK yet, Kooks seems to have hit a road block now now. :headbonk:

Isn't there an Aussie company who makes them?
Yep but no direct connect options and after fitting talking big money, I am happy to wait for some proper UK offerings to come as now I am on the 350 setup the car absolutely hauls, loving it. :)
