Hey guys.

I want to ask some of you that has experience with more CAI.

When i put AirAid CAI on my GT2016 PP, the sound in cabin changed significantly - it start to be much lower, more bassy and boomy (with stock exhaust).
It even on some low RPMs on 5th or 6th gear started to drone, so i removed the sound tube to tame it a bit.
I dont mind the lower frequencies but it also lost the hard higher-freq noise comming from the engine bay. Just goes more blaaah then wruum if you understand what i mean :) and so far i have to say i liked the stock CAI sound much more.

So - my question is - does different CAI create different engine sound?
Can someone give me a hint wich one creates more higher freq. sound?
I have to say i prefer closed CAI, so my main targets are:
Corsa, AFE momentum, Injen Evolution

(btw. i noticed the AFE has smaller diameter air tube leading to throttle body, so i kinda think if that cant be the way to go...)

Thanx for reply.)

Any of them that remove the resonating chambers (which is all) will do that. Since all the intakes you listed won't make anymore power over the stock box without a tune (and marginal if any gains over stock with one), I'd keep it without the sound tube and add exhaust. If you go with the full Corsa Sport catback as you were thinking about, you'll have no shortage of great sound without the tube, and it sounds much cleaner.

Are you after the higher pitched whistling sound?

Not really whistling (got TB spacer for a while but didnt like the sound tbh).
Just more stock "hard rock" sound from engine, rather then the bassy boomy one...

Well, i hope it will change with the corsas, they are on the way so ill see.
If there is no big difference between the CAIs then its no point to buy and try another.
I have it tuned.
