I thought it was amusing at first just how many people would try to race me from the stoplight in this car however now Im finding it to be annoying and downright dangerous. First off I am in British Columbia where they take street racing so seriously that if you are caught doing it your car is taken away from you and auctioned off. Needless to say...I wont do it!!! After saving up the $87000 to buy this car (thats msrp and 15% tax here) theres just no way I would even consider it. I have had everything from the usual suspects ( camaro, corvette guys) to diesel pickups and civic si fart cans all "blow my doors off" from the light. One guy in an older pickup truck did a burnout next to me and the rear end of his truck slid over to within two inches of slamming into the side of my car. I had a kid in a new camaro ss revving the hell out of it next to me at a highway stoplight a couple of weeks ago while I sat looking at the motorcycle cop about six cars back in his lane. I must say the kids launch was perfect and he was doing almost triple the speed limit by the time the cop got that harley wound out.Since you cant see shit out of those cars should you not have a good radar detector?( they are, after all, legal in BC and mine was going bonkers the whole time)Absolute stupidity all around. What is it that attracts these fools... the noise? Do you think they just want to see what the car will do as they've probably never seen one? Do I need to get a sign that says "track car, not a 1/4 mile car".Shouldnt all the snake badges scare them off a little bit? With the risk so high I am amazed this is happening. I guess thats what I get for driving such a subtle car !!

"His launch was perfect..." that cracked me up.

Surprisingly I haven't had a single person try to race me or even goad me to race. Could have something to do with me almost never just driving around town but rather on back roads where there's almost no traffic or stopsigns :D For the most part I think people understand what it is and just don't bother. The typical fart can crowd and Japanese tuner crowd know that no average tuning mods that they do will stand a hope in hell so they just don't try.

I used to get it ALL the time in my WRX though. That thing was bright blue, VERY loud, and decently quick (mid 12's 1/4) but no matter what I pulled up against they wanted to race. Got very little in the AMG as well, I think most people just didn't know what it was or what it could do.

Fairly common for me. I get the dads in minivans trying to show me what their beasts can do.
They're trying to live vicariously through you since they've had their nuts clipped :D

I say, don't worry about it, just look straight ahead haha...but I'm guilty of taking on the challenge most every time. I know this gt350 isn't much of a stoplight car, but what it does have is one hell of a sound so most of what I do in it is when I see someone that is most likely wanting to race is give it a few throttle blips at the light ACT like I'm going to make a quick pull and sit back and pull out normal. Hehehe... I had a moded c6 z06 give me a rev show at a stop light. He was up one car on the left of a two lane light and there was a car on my left and they were giving me the thumbs up for sound and they were laughing as we traded revs back and forth. Hoof course he pulled out like a mad man fishtaling and I just pulled out normal (not only because I had to because of the car ahead of me).

Me crazy, and I can't help myself
A challenger and a few gt mustangs have done it before. I usually give them some revs, make eye contact and when the light changes let them rip off while I laugh. I didn't buy the car for that purpose and the last thing I want is to be the next thread with video posted here of me losing control and looking like an a-hole.

People try and race me ALL the time....maybe it has something to do with me making eye contact with other drivers while revving my engine. Weird.
Thats some funny shit right there!!:lol:

Im wondering if it is perhaps that in the U.S. the car culture is alive and well so people know not to mess with a 350 . In the states your average elementary school student can build a top fuel dragster while in Canada the average university student would not be able to change a tire or add windshield washer fluid. They spend more time discussing who has the best beard and which micro brewery they should go to. Then further humiliate themselves racing me in moms hyundai elantra with the "sport package".

I just get a ton of thumbs ups, gitty people pointing, phone recordings, and friendly revs. I always acknowledge people too if I can. I never enticing anything. It's all about the driver's attitude I think.

While I don't have a 350, and to be honest most people wouldn't know the difference, I get a lot more cars revving if sitting next to them or punching it when I drive by. Never happens in the Jeep or F250, but then neither are red muscle cars. ;)

it all depends in which area you live in. I never get anyone racing me... and I'll have my butt kicked if they did so, as many of them are S7's, RS7's, 911's the occasional C63 AMG here and there...

But not a SINGLE GT350 THUS FAR ! awesome unique car we're driving.

After reading so many threads on this forum i felt like my car would be non stop attention grabber but to be honest it draws very little attention, most people don't realize its any different than a regular mustang. I think for me this is the case either because of where i live (Michigan) so a mustang of any sort is about as rare as pot hole in a michigan road, or because of my color combo/stripe delete. Being AG it doesn't stick out and scream "Notice me!!"
