I plan on going the SC route with this car, and as such would like to have other gearing than the 3.73.

With that said, is the larger radiator that the GTPP offers that big of a deal? I already plan on put on 20" wheels / Corsa / and Ford Perf suspension all around, so I am not really worried about the PP wheels and (mildly) upgraded suspension of the GTPP.

Thoughts?

FWIW I drove both cars back to back before I ordered mine and the suspension and chassis upgrades with the PP were a surprising difference and well worth it.

Brakes alone make it worth it.

could you be more detailed on your concerns with the super charger and 3:73 gearing?

Not much of a concern, but when I have to go to work (read not out just for fun), it's 60 miles 1 way (I ride my bikes in the summer, most of the time...) thought with a SC setup, 3.31 will have more a$$ to get it around and better MPG to boot. Not that MPG is a real concern, but figured if I could get a benefit from it then why not.

... Yeah I forgot about the brakes.

I got all the things you planned on upgrading in the car ( supercharger went on last week). Get the PP, the worse case scenario you would regret not having it

My understanding is the Ford racing Performance/Street suspension is the PP suspension with the street lowering springs but without some of the extra chassis bracing.
So not much of an up grade to a PP.

Brembo's & Torsen alone would cost more to add later on. Even if you change the 3.73 gears and change most of the suspension it's worth it IMHO. Just wish Ford would offer a Track pack to compete with the Camaro 1LE.

1st gear will be totally useless with the 3.73's and a blower, but if you're cool with that the Performance Pack upgrades are nice. Looking back I wish I had gone with the PP, even though I upgraded the suspension anyway, the brakes and bigger radiator would have been worth it. Didn't really want manual though because I'm lazy.

I'd probably get a 3:31 car, throw on a Ford Track suspension, Brembo brakes, and whatever wheels you want, if you plan to SC it. If you don't plan to SC it then I'd get the PP. The stock 14in GT brakes work very well though. You can also buy a kit that allows you to run the GT350 front and rear Brembo's on a GT for like $3600, but the Ford PP front kit is about $1200.

I thought the same thing, but I'm happy with the 20in factory wheels I equipped mine with, and I planned to upgrade the suspension anyway. Radiators are fairly cheap. I do wish I had the Brembo's though, but since the stock 14" calipers work so well I can't really complain. The auto is nice for daily driving and the 1/4 mile. My friends like to get on me for not buying a manual though.

Can't say I've ever seen anyone on here complain they got the PP or say it was not worth the relatively small cost involved.

The choices are;

Get the PP, and change the gearing.....maybe. But you probably won't.

Or don't get the PP.....

And change the brakes, the diff, radiator, brakes, wheels & tires.

So my understanding is that the 3.73, compared to 3.31 with same tranny gears, will give (1) more torque at the wheels, (2) lower top speed and (3) narrower range of rpms when driving. Am I missing something?
