Just because you can put the car in 6th gear @, 60mph, it doesn't stall and keeps going down the road, does NOT mean that that gear and RPM is appropriate.

/end of story children
So witty with your constant use of closing tags.

Sixth is considered overdrive. You do know the purpose of an overdrive gear, right?

Of course trying to rapidly accelerate in 6th at 2000rpm is probably not the way to go, but implying that cruising at 2000rpm (or less) is inappropriate or that these cars are not designed to do that is ridiculous.

there's really no way to install resonators anywhere in the system without splitting the H-pipe. Most 3" bottle resonators are going to be at least 4" in diameter and there's not quite enough room between the pipes. If you did manage to shoehorn them in, there's a high probability of them rubbing/rattling.
Not true my man they fit just fine... Took out the wot rasp and deepened the tone quite a bit more. No rattles or rubbing. :headbang:

I found my MBRP street version got louder over the past year. When I first installed them they were not as loud as they are now, must be the packing breaking down. I'm putting on the MBRP 16" resonators like above.

Nice to know MBRP makes resonators that (hopefully) complement the system. My experience is pretty common. Stupid raspy at first, a lot more mellow now that it has a few thousand miles on it, but still quite loud (louder than a Fox with Flowmaster 44s, just for perspective). I don't get any highway drone, but mine is a 6A that dives for 6th gear at 1400 RPM. THAT is drony!. So I shift manually and try not to ever cruise below about 1700 RPM; that does the trick. Still raspy at WOT over 4k RPM, but 90% of my driving is not that. I like most of what I hear. Deeper and less raspy would be better.

Very cool my man! Any chance you can do a video for all of us (me)? I was going with Dynomax Mini Race Bullets just like you have done with your system. Depending on price & sound I might be changing my mind now.

This is what I'm looking for as well (Deeper and less raspy) I also have this terrible pinging sound after I put headers on (no cats) seems pretty common with the SP headers but not so much with the AR or Kooks which I don't get but is obviously there from listening to the other brand headers. I wasn't really looking for resonators & not trying to lose a ton of the loudness but just looking for a better loud if that makes sense.

Corsa touring axleback will eliminate the highway cruising drone but wont help your sound situation im afraid.

interesting convo guys.

I've just installed a MBRP Street on my UK GT. Was expecting 'little' to no drone at motorway (highway) speeds but I'm getting what I would call a decent amount - it could however be my good hearing. For the record, 70mph I class as cruising speed in 6th gear in a manual. Revs are sitting sub 2k.

Does the drone calm down any? I've only 500 miles on the car at the moment.

I would say the drone part gets worse after break-in.

Start-up and while not up to temp it's pretty raspy, and really barks on quick throttle stabs. Once up to temp it's more mellow but I hear more drone.

Gonna go with Mach XV solo performance + long tubes when warranty is up.

Anyone try the Magnaflow "fix"? I'm beginning to hate the sound of my car at high rpm's.

6th gear at ~2k rpm is the only way for highway cruising, any exhaust system that drone at this rpm range is unbearable to me.

I agree, seems the exhaust and rasp get loader after breakin.

For people saying any exhaust system will drone at low rpms are wrong. I have a corsa sport with an xpipe and I try to get it to drone and it won't. I run it on the highway going up hill at 1700-2100 rpms with ABSOLUTELY no drone.

I had a cheaper exhaust which I won't bash and it droned so bad it rattled the inside of the car. Do yourself a favor and spend the extra money on a quality system like borla or corsa and u won't having any issues with drone resonator or not.
