Are these the Wide Oval Indy 500 or the newer Indy 500? I just ordered a "closeout" set of the Wide Oval (now discontinued) from Tirerack and I can even pick them up in Denver to save on shipping. It was a steal for only $127 per tire for 275/35/20s! I was about to drop $1400 on a set of Michelin PSS tires but I have to be more budget-conscience these days plus I don't track this car or anything crazy anyway. These are worth a shot at nearly a third the cost!

Hey Todd, just curious why you wouldn't want to run 305/30/20 over 305/35/20? When I was calculating the equivalent height for new tires I found 305/30/20 was pretty spot on to being equivalent height to the stock 265/35/20. Just curious! :cheers:

Hey buddy. I have a PP so my tire sizes were a bit different than the 20's that came on your car.

I am not that concerned with being off on the factory sizes. Just a tiny difference won't make a big difference at all.

I am going with a 295/30/20 up front and a 305/30/20 out back with my new set. I have finally settled on getting the Continental 5P's.

These might make my short list. Seems like a very good tire, especially for the price.

These aren't the Wide Ovals. These are a cut above the Wide Ovals in terms or aggressiveness and handling.

Bumping this back up. These things are awesome. Much higher traction limit than the PZero's and better wet traction too. I've logged a couple hundred miles so far, hot days and downpour days. Amazing value. I'm running 275/40/19's on all four corners. Road noise is loud on the rough stuff, quiet on good tarmac.

Recently did a few setups with them and clients responded back with awesome reviews as well.

You mention that you have done a few setups for people with these tires. Is that just the tires or the tires and wheels? The OP indicated that he got the MMR wheels from you and is running them square on his car. I would like to do that on my car ('16 PP - I would like to run 285/35/19 square), but I am told that they won't fit without pretty substantial spacers and longer studs. How are you doing these setups?

Thanks,
<TED>

I've been running these tires for over a year and a half and with about 17k miles on them I couldn't be happier with them. Has to be one of the best UHP tires on the market for the money.

I just put my factory wheels and tires back on (all season pzeros) so I could get them swapped over to a winter tire and omg is it day and night. The Indy 500's just kick the crap out of the all season pzero's. Better in the dry, better in the rain, and better in the corners. The only thing the pzero has is rough pavement is quieter and softer. I won't miss the pzero tires when I replace them with winters.

Wear has been really good as well and to be honest after 5000 miles I think I can get 30k out of them give or take, possibly more. (I don't do burnouts so I don't kill tires)

So my recommendation stands, if you're looking for a solid set of tires that won't break the bank and are better than all seasons pick them up. If you plan on tracking your car, you'll probably want something else but you'll pay more and tread life won't be as good.

I still have no complaints with this tire. They're better than the price tag so far.
