Beware of idiots
I'd like to have another tranny at that price, but at what cost (one of my brethren forced to do without)? So I guess I'm happy to see FP insisting on a VIN.

I get it. I'm just happy to see ford making this available for those who need it.As I said, this isn't a supply issue. It is an artificially imposed restriction. Furthermore, it has the potential to ensure that those that do "qualify" to purchase will pay more than what they would if this was handled like the rest of the items in the FPP catalog.
Exactly !!!Curious why -6 line. The stock hard line is 1/2"od ,that is -8. I plumbed mine with all -8 starlite hose/ fittings Smaller line/ fittings make the pump work harder.
Also a Weldon pump is no prize. It is a diaphragm type pump. A real oil pump is a motor driven gear pump like the offering from RB racing.
That concerns me. If I were in business and had a transmission that I was proud of I would want to sell lots of them. My conclusion is that Ford isn't happy with the Tremec transmission. I suppose one other possibility is Ford has a better transmission in the works that will be available soon?As I said, this isn't a supply issue. It is an artificially imposed restriction. Maybe the Weldon pump is suggested for convenience in packaging? -6 will restrict flow compared to -8. Possibly the system with the -8 has more cooling than necessary.Curious why -6 line. Im guessing they know the flow rate of the internal pump and matched it. Is the kit warrantied? It's interesting that the flow rate of the Weldon 9200 is so low. Around 30-32gph. This is much different than the 1.5-2.1gpm that those of us who created our own solution assumed. Also, that recommended pump is $429 + $695 kit + 150? Lines and fittings + $100 new oil?. I'm fine with my <$500 solution.
Ford cost total is ~$1300 actual cost, because anybody who works on anything knows there is much more than a kit involved. Also, this is all assuming that you install yourself, so add labor if you don't.
Yeah, I don't honestly understand this either. If the prices were below cost, I'd understand, but it certainly seems like they're making a profit on all of it at the posted prices. I'm not sure what other models would benefit from this setup without further modifications.Who would want it other than the 2015 - 2016 Base & Tech owners?
I thought it was rumored that track packs and R's wer 3gpmIm guessing they know the flow rate of the internal pump and matched it. Is the kit warrantied?
Chris, if you look at the factory line size #6 is plenty for that pump and the factory oil cooler. The Weldon pump is a low pressure/low volume pump so smaller lines are needed make it work. The Weldon is very compact, we looked at it but it comes with a price tag. It's interesting that the flow rate of the Weldon 9200 is so low. Around 30-32gph. Any transmission that will hold power if cheap enough will end up in other cars it happens all the time.Yeah, I don't honestly understand this either.
