I'm surprised the spy photographers haven't invested in drones to get a good look over that wall :D
Idk I mean I would've invested in one a long time ago! I guess these "Spy Photographers" are not really spies after all. Probably photographers hired by Ford, idk i'm over thinking now:confused:

They have surprisingly good security at testing facilities, much of which isn't noticed by outsiders. IIRC, the only time the front fascia of the 2015 was captured before launch was when they pulled the camo off at Grattan raceway (gotta be able to do representative cooling evaluation on the track in hot conditions). Raj Nair was pissed as they actually had people scoping out all the hiding spots at the track where pictures could be taken.

I've been pouring over these photos for about half an hour or so. That camo is giving me a headache.....I'm not kidding!

Anyway, a good look at those "boomerang" LED gills :)

This shot seems to show that thin piece of camouflaged upright in the center of the lower grill. There is no way that apparently stiff piece of metal is there for any reason other than holding the black camouflage from blowing into the grill.

4 weeks till LA auto show. I hope a leak happens before then. The 2018 Jeep wrangler was already leak, looks exactly the same
In all fairness, a leaking Jeep is a surprise no nobody.

:D

I'm starting to think the same thing. These camouflaged mules do a pretty good job of hiding certain details and look "sincere" in their efforts to do so.... but they also let the public know that something new is coming and peak everyone's curiosity.

It's essentially excellent publicity to "let" spy shots get out.

The spy photographers are certainly not employed by the OEMs. As an example, one spy photographer recently posted on Facebook that they'd taken spy shots of a completely undisguised upcoming model. Guess who bought the photos? It wasn't a forum or motoring website, nor a magazine. The OEM themselves bought the images!

That being said....the spyshots are the first part of the tease of an upcoming model. Give it a few weeks and I'm sure Ford will do the same. They'll start to release images of the '18MY partially hidden with clever lighting/shade.

I was worried about LA when news broke out a day or two ago that the LA show page leaked some of the debuts. Autoblog mentioned some of the notable debuts but the Mustang wasn't one of them. I was hoping they just didn't bother mentioning it, but TopNotch's post confirms in my mind they're not showing it in LA after all. Maybe it's because they don't want to hurt sales for November and December? I'm guessing it'll be in Detroit now. I doubt they'd wait till New York in March as that would be too late.

The revised taillights will probably mimic this. That's why the top and bottom of the tails are covered with camo in all the pics.

Wish i had the skill to photoshop a guess of the tailights based on this photo.

You can see the polka dot camo tape covering the top of the three lights here.

I'm figuring they have a slight "boomerang" shape at the top and bottom, just like the front DRLs.

Just a guess, though, of course!

This made me think of the Hyundai Genesis taillights.
