I see this has now appeared at: http://www.fordpartsuk.com/shop/c/exterior_accessories_and_parts_1624/

The stripe kit for £225, in either gloss or matt black for the coupe. It doesn't fade, and includes the font bumper bits...

They have a few more parts on there now, including a spare tyre & jack kit for the EB for £256; tyre is an extra £70.

I am not sure if this has been mentioned before - it was the advent calendar that got me looking!

Lets face it all it takes is someone pretty high up at Ford, who cares, who is good at their job to push like crazy for it and to show a presentation on forecasted kits to be sold, revenue and profit from it.

Lets face it:

Ford UK could sell these kits at the USD price in pounds, 1:1 conversion, they could then charge the customer 1hr labour to flash the car (5-15 minutes work) to be warranty certified.

The result is 100's of owners would do it, even if say only 2-3 dealerships in the UK were authorised to do so, people would drive. Just select a southern dealership, midlands and Scotland. They'd sell a lot of kits and make easy money, good for the profit/margin figures.

There's also a area you can order American parts. Probably quicker than a dealer can order

https://www.fordpartsuk.com/americanfordpartsorder.htm
That's half n half.

Dealers ordering some bits for me atm, 2 days from Germany, next day delivery from the depot. (2 diff items).
Big_G got a bumper from Germany in 3 days.

Apparently gaskets and oil coolers for Gibbo, along with whatever Ian needed are much harder ;).

Seems it depends really on your dealer... as all things ford.

Anyway, the fact they'll sell u Americano parts is a good sign, hopefully at a decent price - and ford can use their tactical tax dodging to the customers advantage for once

I agree with this, because when the service manager left and the new guy started at my dealership all of a sudden getting parts took days and not weeks........

Imbeciles, just makes no sense. Probably can charge warranty for 'Admin time' knowing ford. I've seen the audit accounts, they're quite comical in some situations. But same goes for all the automotive industry.

Dear Ford Bigwigs:

Ford Performance Power packs:

To import, 0, send them from Germany.
To sell, £500 for EB PP + 1hrs labour - £580 all in.
Warranty protected, ford certified, ford parts.

Do it,
thanks,
steve

To be honest, it'll always be a cost thing, but if it's all produced in Germany, or even in Valencia. They're going to dodge import tax, import quotas, cheaper (probably), change the cone filter for the GT or something. And they'll probably turn a killer profit.

Not sure if there's any emissions or legal hoops they need to jump through to get the power packs through, but I highly doubt it judging by how quick mountune had a Ford Warranty protected RS tune.

Like Ive said before, easy money for Ford.

This will easily stand up in Dragons Den as a win/win business case.

Don't expect any of it to be in stock though. I've ordered the service kit to be told "it's out of stock, do I want to wait (indefinitely) or have my money back"? !

You mean I beat you to knowing something Mustang related TT?!

http://www.mustang6g.com/forums/showthread.php?t=67040&highlight=Christmas

;)!

That's your Christmas advent calendar for the kids, wife, and a few for yourself sorted!
slowhand99 I'm not paying for anything, so no money back ;)! Ford parts Uk sent me a few parts a while back and they came after a few days... as for performance parts, I'd wait for them - but I want them now. If ford need an eco test car then....

I volunteer.

;)!
