Evening everyone.

Having driven to high Wycombe and back today I'm reminded about posting about my bonnet. It's probably just another ford thing but the bloody thing does like to move around when at speed.

Anything above 60+ causes a shocking amount of movement from it. I'd say it can move up and down a good 5-7mm which is very noticeable. I have every confidence the catch will hold it but over time I'm worried it could cause fatigue which could end in all kinds of bother.

On collection both front sides were pushed up due to the rubber bungs being wound out too much, I've since wound them back in so it sits flush, well as flush as I can get it.

I've also just watched the video on the lightning blue thread and my shutline isn't as large as that, it's much smaller....

Is there a fix or it is just a live with job?

Hood Struts help, as do hood pins :p

It's meant to be a 'feauture' but it's down to one small clip in the centre of the bonnet and a whole lot of bonnet.

Hood struts made zero difference to mine.

Its the consequence of a big + light bonnet (made from aluminium).

Its not a Ford thing, my Mazda CX-5 did it as well.

Its a feature, learn to love it :)

Mine flutters as well but it doesn't bother me that much.

I added the Roush vents to mine and modified them for open air flow. It still flutters.

I'm sure that I read somewhere that the Euro/UK spec Mustangs have a steel hood.

Feels very heavy to me.
Hood and wings are meant to be aluminium. Magnet doesn't stick to either on mine.

It's an alignment issue.

Mine doesn't budge below 120mph.
its even worse when you're behind traffic, the dirty air seems to really get under it.

I'll have a look at alignment tomorrow.

Interestingly I found a closed private road and was quite impressed how much pull it still had as I approached the far right of the speedo. Needless to say it's really moves around at prison speeds.

If you have the Torsen rear diff it just slams into it's 151 top speed and stalls there. It startled me when it first happened.

Not noticed any movement - for peace of mind I'd get your dealer to check the catch is seated properly. Not heard of any issues either. Ford sell 10,000 or so a month in the US - we'd know if there was a problem........
