Ford Parts Lead Time?

Does anybody here have experience ordering Ford Parts? My car has been sitting in a body shop waiting on a front valence of all things for over a week now. Is this typical? If so I'll probably just try to provide or order my own parts next time.

call your local dealer and they should be able to tell you whether the part comes from a local warehouse or elsewhere

Ah, should have followed up with this -- called the local Ford Parts department and turns out the part I needed replaced was behind on production + ship date to customers by an ENTIRE MONTH. Ended up taking my car back from the shop with the original, repaired part after I informed the body shop of this.

My car has been with the dealer going on 17 days now.....for a driver side mirror and driver seat rail. I was told parts on order, didnt really believe them...but it appears maybe so.

There was a shortage of these about a year ago...got so bad that cars were being held up in bodyshops for months. Roush tends to have a lot of new takeoff front valances in stock (they put their own on, IIRC). Not sure if Saleen does, too...
