Any know if the GT has active noise cancellation? Not talking about fake engine noise played through the speakers like On the ecoboost, but noise being played to cancel outside road noise. I was readings few threads here on aftermarket sound installs and someone said he found 3 mics on his base Gat which is used for ANS.

Those microphones might be used for noise cancellation of engine / wind noises so Sync can hear & understand your voice commands, and also for clearer bluetooth phonecalls. But nothing to do with making your car quieter if that's what you're thinking.

That makes sense. I hate the idea of an always on ANC system.

"Like noise cancelling headphones, the Active Noise Control system provides drivers and passengers with a more peaceful and comfortable experience. In addition, though, Ford says it can contribute to the safety of car occupants."

"Noise is intrusive and reduces the driver's mental processing power, and can lead to distraction and stress," says chief medical officer at Ford of Britain Dr John Cartwright. "By removing unwanted powertrain noise, Ford is helping customers to complete their journey calmly and in comfort."

So does that mean the car is so equipped? If so, I'm guessing it has no idea wtf to do with my solo exhaust. lol.

Ok that Active Noise Control is only on the Ford Mondeo Vignale for now.

Not on any other models, definitely not on a Mustang..... yet!

If you look next to your engine air filter, you will notice a sound tube that is pumping engine noise directly into your cabin through your firewall from your intake. Kinda lame. I don't believe there is active noise cancelation though.

I've always wondered why people think this is lame. I respect your opinion I'm just on the other side of the fence.

I love hearing the engine and don't mind the sound tube pushing in genuine engine sound. Now if it was like the ecoboost that is amplified via stero system I'd have an issue with it.

My sound tube is staying in! At least until I get headers haha

Coolmanfoo, I secretly don't mind it either. I just wish the noise I love wasn't faux in a sense.

My understanding is the GT does not have active noise cancellation.

I mean if it did, I would think it would have been quieter inside. The car (stock) is loud as hell inside.

I had the noise cancelling and fake engine sound turned off on my truck before I took delivery. The service manager had no clue how to do it so I provided them with directions. :)

Noise cancellation is standard on all Fusion and C-Max hybrids since 2013. (Three mics visible in the headliner). Also standard on all Lincolns now. (Mics hidden in the headliner). Not on the Mustang GT.

I am sure that there is ANC on the Ecoboost model. When I visited the dealer, he showed me some ordering guide and I saw that ANC was clearly listed as a feature under the Ecoboost. Don't know about the GT though.

Does removing this sound tube actually do anything? Just wondering.
