This isnt exactly infotainment so I tought I'd post in the general section.

Below is a snippet of wiring diagrams a fellow posted. He mentioned the Ford system where he got these does not differentiate between the premium and the shaker for wiring of the head unit and amp. He did have other snippets for the base system.

Anyway...it surprises me to no end to see all of this stuff on these diagrams about noise cancellation since I've not heard about it at all other than for the ecoboost. Do you guys think this is simply not active in v8 cars or???

Probably more effective for ford to have one process for manufacturing vs more.

Few feet of wire tossed away is easy to swallow instead of somehow missing it on cars that were supposed to get it...

Well, sure...it may be that the wires are there and not doing anything because its cheaper for assembly/manufacturing reasons, it could be that the wires arent there at all on V8s and they just have one set of diagrams with a sort of "worst case scenario" point of view...or it could be that the V8 has active noise cancellation!? The last part is what I would like to know haha. I would think if it did it'd be all over the net. All I've found is about engine noise stuff for the ecoboost (maybe both v6s)

Is there any new info on whether the noise cancellation wires serve a purpose on a GT?

my guess is (like the ones above)
the reduction of complexity
my camper on Ford Transit light truck Chassis does NOT have a defrosting function for the rear view mirrors. But it has the wiring connected to heatable glass-elements in the mirror housing. All it would Need: A Switch on the dash board to Switch them on and off.
Makes me wonder: How many Options are installed in our cars in the base models which could be activated for a fraction of the Price in the Options list simply by installing the final Switch or even by just plugging in a missing fuse?
concerning noise cancallation: as the v8 does not have those dronefrequences of an i4, the System just is not activated. You probably could do this easily. Would be interesting, what a difference it would make (let me choose Mercedes and BMW to give 2 examples of what i mean. without noise cancallation the Mustang v8 sounds more like an AMG V8 oder M V8 on the inside, with noise cancallation on the Mustang v8 would Sound like a regular S-Class V8 or 6 or 7 Series V8 on the inside

I'd imagine its to keep the plug/harness coming out of the main head unit the same regardless of trim. Most likely the main head unit is the exact same unit for all the cars but but with different software for the different options.

 so with a softwareupdate you could have a wisper quiet v8 if you want to...

would be interesting to see, what noise cancallation does about the drone of aftermarket exhausts (not only on a v8 but also on an i4 (has anyone with a catback or else i4 ecoboost any experiences what nc does (on/off)))
