I like to disassemble things.
I called today and talked to Mike who was super nice and appreciated everyones passion for the GT350. The Ford Performance team hears us loud and clear. He gave me part number M-7095-M8S for the transmission cooler and M-7000-M8S for the transmission replacement.
Surfing late at night and I noticed a new part number. Came here and backtracked and found the above. So not new news but here's a link anyway.

Trans kit will use drain and fill holes..you supply pump...recommends not switching and to keep on all the time. Possibly $600 without pump.. Not very satisfying.
On all the time? Did he say what ambient temperatures? If it's below zero the pump should be on? Doesn't make sense to me unless they are assuming people won't drive the car if it's below 70 degrees or something. Did he say why? Would there be a potential problem with the fluid level if the pump is off?

If the pump is on all the time it might make more sense to just buy the track pack transmission... or a 2017 so I can have a warranty.

I don't like the answer on the rear diff cooler either. It kind of sounds to me like it's inconvenient so they aren't going to do anything. Of course the car won't go into limp mode - THERE'S NO REAR DIFF TEMP SENSOR!! So we can just be driving along and wreck the rear diff.

Thanks for the info. It makes me a little sad. Still trying to decide what to do..

So opting to have a dealer install this kit will leave you with no warranty for the power train portion of the car?

Is that correct?
So we are looking at kit $600, pump $500 plus labor for Ford's mistake and no warranty.
Tomster, That was the impression they left me with. The example given was if my engine overheated, that would still be covered under warranty as the trans cooler wouldn't affect that.

trackcrazygt350, I think you make to correct assumption. I didn't ask specifically but what I was told the kit could be around $600, not including the pump.

They mentioned a Weldon pump but I didn't get the number...here is the amazon page based on what others have posted.

Hey Hack,
We're in the same boat unfortunately. I'm not too happy about it either and I refuse to invest further in another gt350...When Isaac said always on, I didn't ask further. Agree on what you said on the diff coolers...Frustrating situation all around.

On another note. I spoke with Shelby American today as well. They did not have any new news. However I was told pricing and parts will be available last week of September. So solutions are coming.
It'll be good to have options:thumbsup:

Since it looks like Ford is going to leave it to use to source our own pump, I need the smart Automotive mechanically inclined members to start a thread about different pumps that are available.

Suggested data points...

Manufacturer:
Price:
Specs?:
Pros:
Cons:

So will the Shelby American parts be the same as the Ford Performance parts? I thought SA was working with FP on this project.

So new plan then. If it's >5k to swap trannies, apply FP cooler "solution" until something blows up and THEN do the full tranny swap.

Basically 600+ dollars to stall the need for the full deal - by then the damn thing will prob be out of warranty anyway.

I'm not sure there will be options. It was posted some time ago that Shelby American was working on this project with Ford Performance. We may be talking about the same exact parts from both. Hope I am wrong. It would be nice to see two different fixes. Perhaps someone who has not called FP yet can ask this question.

Several members have already installed pumps. What did they use for pumps?

We'll need entirely new thread to discuss the pumps. I try go to back and look to see what the are using, but as I recall, the most threads talk about that they did it with some how in there, but I don't recall pump brands.

My RB gear pump is very quiet. With the engine off you must have the door open to hear it. I only use it when on the track. There is no way to push hard enough on the street to need it.

There are a few other significantly less expensive pump options than the Weldon @ $400+. But, they're not all rated for continuous duty and that may be a key limiting factor in a system that seems as if it was "designed" to mirror the continuous duty mechanical pump system in the Track Pack, R, and 2017s.

I certainly have no factual basis to opine about the length of time it has taken Ford to acknowledge their, ahem, short-sighted, design choice, but if they set a design goal for the add-on cooler to be as integrated and innocuous as possible--like the mechanical system--then they've had to spend the time deciding where to put a pump, how to run the lines, how/where to wire the pump, and then test the system for efficacy and some measure of durability. The only parts they could pull out of their supply chain are the radiator and brackets.

Theoretically, there should be some value to a Factory / OE designed and spec'd system. But, even that's going to be an open question for some time until folks start installing and running these systems, from Nova Scotia, to Arizona, to Road America, to Laguna Seca.

A few of us opted to forge a path ahead of whatever Ford was going to do, or not. Since there are really no other low-level options than an external pump, flex lines to/from drain and fill, and getting a radiator up in the factory location, that's what we did. My thread is buried somewhere in the forum, and SVTDSM's (the pioneer) still gets updated occasionally. Leaving aside the still open questions about warranty, the message is that the external cooler systems work.

Good luck everyone.
