Called fp at 12 central time. Got the same response. I spoke to Mike. He informed me that Ford is a month away from releasing the kits (trans only). He also gave me a part number for the trans cooler, when it becomes available "M-9095-M8S". Plus u would have to source external pump yourself as we discussed. The trans swap obviously is another option.
I called today and talked to Mike who was super nice and appreciated everyones passion for the GT350. The Ford Performance team hears us loud and clear. He gave me part number M-7095-M8S for the transmission cooler and M-7000-M8S for the transmission replacement. He said the cooler kit would be available in four to six weeks as they work through some final details and you can buy the transmission swap now. The pump he recommended for the cooler kit is the Weldon 9200 and said a good mounting location would be the void in the passenger side footwell. He couldn't confirm what kind of warranty (if any) for the cooler kit would be offered as it's one of the things still being worked out.

So still nothing.

I don't understand what is taking so long.

The package with the Trans swap. All the parts are on the shelf. They have the part numbers and costs and MSRP. Put a package together and list it. Hell the package doesn't even need to be assembled until someone orders it.

The "external pump", since they aren't offering the pump with it; it's really the same as above. A package that has all the ford parts from the other package minus the transmission.

What testing is needed. None because one package is already on a car they sell and the other package isn't complete so there should be no testing.
It's not that easy. Ford needs to test the external pump solution in various conditions, source additional product from vendors, document instructions, set pricing and work out liability/warranty concerns. Things like this can take months working through the various teams in a large corporation. Trust me if it was just up the the Ford Performance team we'd already have these in our hands.

One thing Mike said was that the rear differential color was not needed for the typical HPDE session and the trans is the "weak" link. They're looking at another kit for the differential, but it's not required and just a nice to have.

If the main component (the pump) is not part of the "external pump" package, then what testing do they need to do? Testing wouldn't do any good because every pump could be different.

Why would they warranty the package if I'm sourcing my own pump?

The options as stated seem to be a collection of ford produced parts arranged in packages. And FP has had plenty of time to do that.

I'm assuming based by my dealer response of getting me a fit and finish resolution bt tomorrow morning that calls may have worked.

I received an answer of 6 or so weeks on cooler issue even though this problem doesn't affect me like others.

Thanks

I got some good news today. Hope you get the same results. Anyway, the technician at my dealership got my transmission torn down today, which was full of brass shavings, and went to order all the parts needed to rebuild it. Fortunately I was there to get an update and technician came in and said that he couldn't order the parts needed for my transmission because they weren't available anymore,:clap2: (Could be good news for all of us) and said he would have to order a new transmission.:headbang: Not sure if it's the same transmission going into the 17s but considering the didn't have parts for the 16 trans, there is a good chance it may have to be a 17. Hope this helps.

On another note. I spoke with Shelby American today as well. They did not have any new news. However I was told pricing and parts will be available last week of September. So solutions are coming.

I highly doubt it, while that would be awesome, you would have a pump, or holes for the pump, with nothing to put there. Then they would have to completely upgrade your car to 17 specs as far as the trans and supporting parts go. While I would love to see you get just that, I would break mine tomorrow (joking), I just can't imagine that would happen.

Called FP at 10:30 this morning. Talked to Mike G. First I asked him if he new about the email that was posted on 9/9 and he said the email was indeed from FP and confirmed the trans kit would be available in 6-8 weeks. I asked him what the kit would consist of and he said a radiator, mounting bracket and lines. The pump would not be part of the kit. I asked what pump he would recommend and he said a Weldon 9200 approx. 475 dollars. I asked him if testing was being done using a tech pack car and his reply was yes. I asked if dealers would get instruction on how to install the trans cooler and his reply was yes. Finally I asked him if they were working on a differential cooler and his reply was not at this time since they do not think the differential will send the car into limp mode.
The people we are talking to are Ford Performance Parts and indeed they are a small group. Ford Performance who we are not talking to is a huge part of Ford. Correct me if I'm wrong.

I got essentially the same info from Isaac and Trent (I think that was his name). No warranty. Reason for lack of diff cooler kit explained by complexity of integrating into Tech Pack modules, can't remember which. Trans kit will use drain and fill holes..you supply pump...recommends not switching and to keep on all the time. Possibly $600 without pump.. Not very satisfying.

So opting to have a dealer install this kit will leave you with no warranty for the power train portion of the car?

Is that correct?

So we are looking at kit $600, pump $500 plus labor for Ford's mistake and no warranty.

This past weekend I took my Tech pack 2016 SHELBY to Sebring did 4 25 min sessions without incident. Next day 2 25 min sessions no issues but on the third after 20 min it went into limp mode I checked all gauges of temp all were normal so I assumed it was Transmission. Cooled for 1and half hour and went out again with same result limp mode. So I am looking as well for a solution thanks for the info.

I also called and got the exact same answer. What do you wanna do, it is what it is.
Let's wait and see the final details when it's oficially announced.

I'm wondering why they're not including a pump with the rest of the kit.

Did some research and found out that the Weldon 9200 is a very noisy pump.

The warranty part surprises me a little, but you really didn't think they were going to do this for free did you?

It's going to be what it is going to be. I'm sure any warranty terms will be addressed when the kit is released.

Best of luck with this :)

Edited to add: ^^^^Dan beat me to it, same thoughts. I would also add that the pump not being included is probably for liability and that the pump is probably the weakest link in the chain in terms of failure.

I don't like the thought of it being too noisy.

In my book, it is "too noisy" if the pump can be heard over the engine; inside or outside the car.

If ford doesn't offer a complete package with warranty, then we are going to see a lot of different configurations on this forum.
