This!

My midsection was just a few miles away from this.

So, I should settle on a $68k car that I have to periodically tighten up the chin spoiler screws on?... Makes sense. :headbonk:
Hell I just want to know how you got an R for 68k. If I could have found one anywhere near that I'd have one as well! Sorry for the hijack, sorry to hear about the issues.

Well, the spoiler was pretty secure the week I got it because I remember tugging on it pretty good given the threads on here regarding spoiler failures.

Yes, that doesn't mean they were all inserted, but what I do know now is that they're not there... And a dealer installed it so it's a Ford issue.

I thought so too but one day I drove fast (obvious ambiguity there). The splitter pulled itself down where the 4 front screws should have been. The splitter wound up getting a few light scratches and I asked for a new front splitter. They ordered it I asked what they would do with the old part. I was told that they would sell it. I offered $150 for it and they agreed. So I told them to just reinstall the old splitter and leave the new one in the box.

My point is, look for scratches and do the same. The splitter not being installed correctly is on the dealer and they have to make it right. 4 screws just don't dissappear.

I didn't say I paid $68k... That's the general cost of the car.

$68K maybe around MSRP, but the general cost of the car is a lot more

I just thought maybe you scored one somehow for MSRP. I wasn't doubting you or being a dick, I was just wondering how you did it if you did.

Actually, I'm more concerned about the spoiler issue rather than ADMs. I didn't take it as you being a dick... It just opens up conjecture such as how lemers responded.

I'm fortunate enough to have an R, thanks to a good friend/neighbor, and Ford.

Please don't be offended by my reply. I mean no harm

Late to the party here, but nylon patch screws work well. We use them in the equipment we produce that goes on planes and we vib test the crap out of our units with them. We have much better luck with them than regular loctite, and they dont damage plastic parts like loctite can.

Isn't there a torque spec...I gave a non R and my splitter was torn completely off while driving down the highway after I left the dealership after purchasing her. I almost had a heart attack, the ensuing panic attack restarted my heart.
YES! their is a tq scpec and no just for tension strength but also the limitation of the nut plate or the u clips. I installed my own splitter and damaged a clip to where it would not hold tq or meet tq spec.

The difference is his splitter has additional downforce on it.

@OP, have you hit the splitter anywhere? Even small scrapes on the bottom screws can potentially loosen them
LOL I am aware the Op has and R and at 80 mph the down force is minuscule.

I said "80+ mph"... And when I track the car, that will be a constant.

There is considerable downforce on these splitters at 80mph and above... If that were not the case hey wouldn't have been placed on the car.
