Hey guys,

What are the factory stripes on the gt350 made of?

1. Are they paint under the clear coat?
2. Are they vinyl over the clear coat?
3. Are they removable if they are vinyl over the clear coat?

Thanks in advance!

They are #2 and #3. Others have posted to buy new stripes from Ford for the 350 is over $1k.

Are you saying its noticeably easier to damage than the best aftermarket vinyl?

As far as vinyl goes it's actually pretty nice but for some reason more brittle than most . Also is it's vinyl, and it is much softer than your paint. It's going to scratch more easily than paint, there's just no way around it.

Ok, so they are easily scratchable.

I'm guessing if it gets really bad we can take them off, and maybe go with an aftermarket ones? Especially for the aftermarket price point probably being more affordable.

Is there a brand that you guys recommend?

Big Worm. They make the stripes for the GT350R-C cars.

Wow! I didn't realize they were that much to replace!

When i had my 2011 shelby, i was quoted by 3 different places to paint the stripes on. It ranged any where between $1500-2300.

My understanding is that if you want them off...you can do what some members have done, go to a presure washer! (Blasted off by accident)

I found a local custom vinyl shop that will install a full set of stripes for <$550.

Agreed, never use anything dry to wipe the stripes down. No stripes for me if I do it all over again...
