Yo, I see you have pedalmax, whats your take on JMS Pedalmax ?? Is it worth the mod... ?

I find this answer to be one of personal opinion. There are some who believe it doesn't bring anything to the table. While it doesn't actually increase horsepower, it does increase throttle response which to me I believe adds a lot of value. It was a little frustrating without the immediate response and at times a lag. the car felt sluggish but now with this mod it's eliminated any lag. So, yeah personally i like it a lot.

get the tune first. you will not be disappointed. today I ran my car on track aps with a unleashed tune...and then with the MPT. the MPT was .2 quicker and 2mph faster....and it was heat soaked with the MPT. not only that....part throttle and mid range power is sooo much better. and the unleashed tune is way better than stock lol. I firmly believe in MPT's 30+ HP gains. trust me, it will be the best money you ever spend on your car
It seems to be that the MPT is the way to go. I'll probably be getting it next.

It was my first mod, 18 months ago coupled with SCTx4 93 preloaded tune the acceleration is very quick from idle to top end through all the gears, it increases the voltage to the throttle body, no lag what so ever.

K&N drop in filter
SK Throttle spacer
JMS PedalMAX
SCTx4 93 preloaded tune

So I live at quite the altitude, I always wondered if the Custom tunes will really work that well since
1. Im at a higher elevation
2. only have 91 octane vs 93
you guys base custom tunes from the dyno characteristics of the doner car.
:shrug:maybe its a noob question but i'm just so torn between custom tune files or just forking more money and getting a local dyno tune..
From what i see if i were to buy custom tunes, my eyes have shifted from Torrie at unleashed to MPT..
I dont know what to do:frusty:

I look at SCTx4 perloaded from SCT direct in Sanford, FL 407-774-2447 you can program 87, 91, 93 tunes and the menu to your liking were with the others you have to keep going back and forth to get what you want.

I live at 4,000 ft....and only have 91 oct. trust me, its soooo worth it. and im here to tell you right now, a cutom tuner isn't going to get you anywhere near as good as mpt. why? because mpt is the #1 tuner for the 3.7, they really know their shit. a local shop may have only ever done a few 3.7s ever, and the s550 is completely different as far as tunes go compared to the last gen 3.7

out of curiosity, I recently did a back to back test, on the same road, launching at the same rpm and shifting at the same rpm, to compare my mpt 91 tune to my unleashed 91 tune. the mpt picked up .2 and 2mph over the unleashed. that's a solid 15 to 20hp....imagine what the gains are over stock. I believe 100% MPT's 35hp claim (on 93 oct) but 91oct is probably only 3-5hp less. trust me...ive tried bama, unleashed and mpt. I havnt even sent mpt a data log yet....their shit is spot on man. don't second guess....this is the best mod you will ever do to your car. and not only are the peak #s better on the mpt....part throttle and mid range tq are waaaaaay better than the other tunes, and light years ahead of stock. just do it.....I can literally promise you....you will not be disapointed

So Fordguy you definitely feel this is worth it over the Bama? Did you feel more power over the Bama?
I have the Bama 93, it took a lot of back and forth to get the trans tuning to my liking. Honestly I'm not sure it was worth it, it was never 100% to my liking. I went back to stock for the time being after running the bama tune for about 2 months or so. The power gains seem crazy. I do see the numbers are with a modded car though.

let me put it this way....I had the bama on my car for about 5 minutes. it was trash. the MPT was night and day. mpts dyno numbers were with a roush AB and a intake. if you ask people, they will tell you those parts don't add much power. I think its safe to say the mpt is worth 30hp regardless of the mods you have....maybe more with mods.

im telling you guys....especially those who already have a SCT x4....it will cost you like $100 to get the mpt tune. even if you still have to buy the SCtX4, it will be the best money you spend on your car

100% agreed. took it out for a spin last night and the acceleration is great!

From stock to mpt?

I just ran a 1/4 in track aps, at 500ft elev, 91 deg ambient temps with 110 deg inlet temps. Spun hard, in 2nd too. Ran a 13.3@104... (and thats with my big ass spoiler on the back...probably hurting 1-2mph)

On this thread or another, I read about a throttle control module (≈$240) that supposedly made throttle response (for given pedal movement) so much better. It sounds like this MPT tune accomplishes that plus so much more (shift points, etc.)

I had previously never even considered a tune due to warranty concerns. I've read that dealers can see your complete ECU flash history (and maybe even correlated to miles at each tune??). What are peoples thoughts on this (or any) tune vs. warranty concerns down the road?

Also, where is the best deal & reliable place to buy the SCT x4?
Anyone know the specific SCT x4 p/n for the 2015 V6?

This was my mind set until I hit a 200km/h limiter and ran terrible times at the 1/4 mile (not related to each other). I finally caved in when I sniped a really good deal for the SCT tuner in the local ads. Just gotta make sure the price to unlocks left ration is good. I paid like ~$240US for basically a brand new tuner (only 1 unlock used).
As for the dealer, it depends on how good your dealer is. If they bitch about the smallest things (friend of a friend refused to install a roush spoiler or if they did do it the body warranty was going to be void) then it's probably time to find a new dealer. Just return the tune to stock and hope they don't find anything. In US I believe the dealer has to prove that the tune did damage to the broken part, but don't quote me on that.
