So I recently used the MPT XR 93 tune and I really like it, was just wondering which one is the bomb between the 3?

I haven't heard someone saying "the bomb" since elementary school. :D But all jokes aside, my choice would be the mpt tune. I do like all 3 in their own different ways though.

Well ive had all 3. The mpt and unleashed make about the same top end power cause my 0 to 60 and 1/4mile are pretty much the same....buuut...the mpt has so much more partial throttle tq, its waaay more fun to drive. I wasnt inpressed with the bama....it was a little better than the unleashed around town, but too end power felt a little lower. Im sure they could have optimized it for me...but i really didnt feel like going through tge who data log thing with them...so, im sure they could probably match the mpt....but now that ive tried the mpt...im pretty well hooked lol

I have the Bama tune and I'm mostly happy, I may switch to MPT since everyone seems to be saying its much better. My main complaint was the shift points. As delivered it was very aggressive and terrible for around town driving. Im talking like 2500 RPM at 25 MPH lol.

Having said that their customer service is great and Bama was able to give me a revised tune where drive behaves mostly like stock but sport has the optimized shift pattern. That I am pleased with, although it still has noticeable shifts in terms of harshness. I haven't done any 0-60 runs yet but it feels more powerful for sure. I'm probably going to have them dial back the shift harshness and do 0-60 then. At that point if I get around 5.5 I'll be happy. If not I'll try MPT as long as their trans shifting isn't harsh.

I have all 3 and I love my MPT tune so much better. BAMA shifted so harshly for normal driving with just then performance tune and it felt very uncomfortable. I had them revise the shift points but it still wasn't very comfortable. I shouldn't have to keep asking the company to make changes to it and wait a few days when everyone seems to hate their shifting and engin braking as well. MPT is perfect since they make changes to the S mode as well.

Question: is there any point in tuning my car if I plan on using 87 gas and my car is stick?

I don't care 0-60 mph or 1/4 mile time very much. My manual V6 is nothing more than my dd. But again I bought this mustang for its fun factor. If there is any way to improve its driving characteristics and performance, welcome.

As of now (and given my driving habits), I think I could use a tune to let the rpm drop faster when lifting the gas pedal, and to let the gas pedal more sensitive so that I can blip the throttle with less effort. (Looks like both are to make the throttle more sensitive, oh well.) Any other ways a tune could help my mustang (given my driving pattern)?

Thoughts?

For manuals, the point of a tune should be throttle response, the rpm hang issue and I assume thats it as all the shift point are controlled by us :headbang:

Thanks for the open and honest feedback. Please keep in mind we offer unlimited datalogging support to ensure the car is making the most power and torque while running safely, the fastest turn-around of tunes/dataloggs and industry leading customer service.

We would be shocked if our tunes made less HP/TQ on the same car/same mods than anything else available even during cruise/part throttle but others could modify throttle tables to feel more aggressive in the mid-range

that might be all mpt is doing. their gain numbers were pretty impressive...but again, that was with a few bolt ons

if you guys develop a ghost cam tune, id be very interested in trying to optimize your tune for my car

Headers on these cars are worth BIG HP....adding a tune on top of that just compounds the gains. We use stock cars, because that shows the true benefit of the tune. Using a car that already had LT's (not a few bolt-ons) is not very accurate.

I am liking my mpt tunes I got there 89 prx and 93 prx and 2 other ones. You can really feel their difference in throttle response and then car just feels alive. I felt like a little kid with a new toy
