We installed the Mosconi 200.4, focal fc900.1 amps in the trunk, along with the DQ-61 as well as the focal elite series cross overs for the left and right front stage. For the sub, we went with the JL audio 10" W7.

This thing sounds incredible.

The following went into the front stage

Focal ES 165 KX3 three component speakers.

The rears are

Focal 165 AC coaxial kit.

LOL, I rarely use the trunk for storage... it was never that big to begin with.. especially in the convertible. I keep the cleaning supplies in behind the drivers seat on the floor.

I'm going to be looking for some sort of a storage unit for the underside of the trunk lid.

I've been looking hard at the DQ 61, what is your opinion on the unit?

The DQ-61 is quite a beast. What it provides more than anything is a way to boost the initial signal coming from the head unit. I believe the voltage is rather low coming from the head unit, but it is a clean flat signal.

For me, it also has a feature that I love. It has a technology called accuBASS. What this does is basically gives you back the bass falloff you get with factory head units at high volumes. You can tune it back so that it is steady all the way through the volume range.

It also provides you with a separate EQ for your fronts, rears as well as the sub.

I have used it to fine tune the audio levels for all the speakers and I'm more than happy with it.

If I had an endless budget, I would have looked at a different option with an active crossover system as opposed to the passive ones that come with the Focal Speakers.

Hope that helps.

P.S. It also has the ability to turn off all the processing done by the DQ-61 via the remote control knob. This gives you a clear image of what that DQ-61 is actually doing for you.

Nice.. the W7 is a superior sub.. and just doesn't get the respect it deserves.. those subs produce incredibly accurate bass.. and even when you want to be a ganster for the day .. you can get it out of that if you want..

Nice system..

I keep coming back to your build... Looks nice! I'm looking at the LCQ 1 vs the DQ 61 but not sure what the difference is between the two.
