Why would you say such a rude comment like that? It's pretty uncalled for in my opinion. It's still ~$2000 cheaper than a 2017 and not everyone can get MSRP on a 2017. :doh::shrug:

Initially I agreed with you and then I thought - well if you want to track the car you really wouldn't want to buy a 2016 tech pack, because we don't know when a solution will come and what it will cost. And how many people want to buy a GT350 and never track it? My impression is the entire reason the car was built was for performance driving. So buying a GT350 with the intention of never driving it hard doesn't make much sense to me, anyway.

Then I thought - well if you are in a climate where it gets in the high 90s or over 100 regularly and you see lots of traffic or high speed driving you could also have issues with heat. And this is true even if you will never track the car.

And then I thought maybe "dolt" isn't too far off the mark. You could also be uninformed I guess.

Bottom line in my opinion it would be wiser to spend the extra money for a 2017 than to buy a 2016 tech pack. I certainly would have done that if I had known how poorly the tech/base cars could handle any kind of performance driving. Don't get me wrong; I love my car. But I have to admit it is seriously flawed.

Bingo. And, at some point most people will go to sell their car. The informed buyer will find out that it's a 2016 Tech and (assuming there is no fix for heat issues) say one of two things. Either, "nevermind" or, "I'm going to offer you $xxxx less than your asking price because I'm going to have to deal with the heat issue."

Obviously the 17 is the way to go. But, realistically a very small percentage will track this car. A lot of them will be garage art or do the show car circuit etc. Plus, if you want it just for a fun back road/weekend car, it will be just fine for that.

The main reason I got my tech pack car now was so I could drive it this summer. More than likely, I would of had to wait until the fall to get a 17 the way I wanted it or travel, which I don't have the time to do this summer either. Plus I'm more optimistic that there will be a cooler fix. If not from Ford, there will be an aftermarket fix eventually. And I don't need a fix until next summer so I have time for that.

Meanwhile, I am really enjoying my car now and taking it to an autoX next week. We'll see if it goes into limp mode then, but I doubt it considering how short the runs are.

Idk...to me it doesn't make sense to buy a $60k+ car these days with that POS calculator screen in the center, especially if you plan to actually use the car on a day to day basis..

You should be fine in an autocross.

And I also didn't want the Recaros that come standard in the track pack. I had them in an ST, not sure if they are the same or not, but I found them way to restrictive for semi daily use. I could've had a 16 track pack instead of my car, but for your reason and this, I decided on the tech car.

Same reason I bought a tech car. I was concerned the Recaros would be way too uncomfortable. Every other Ford with Recaros that I've sat in did not fit me at all.
