Obviously we disagree about percentages that will use the car for high performance driving, but I guess time will tell on that.

You should be fine in an autocross.
I guess I say this based on years of being on different forums (especially BMW ones). Very few people actually track their car. A lot of people have the intention of doing so when they buy a car like this and never do.

Who knows, I could see it being higher with this car though. When I picked up my car I was surprised how many salesman asked if I was actually going to drive it. I said of course and asked them what they were talking about. They were telling me how many people buy cars like these and then flatbed them to their house or collection or whatever. Plus, there is a ton of older nostalgic buyers that get these just to go to car shows and gab with other car guys etc.

I said this before, I will say it again:

- For a "GT350" (which is a "track" car, it is NOT the base mustang or GT), it makes no sense to not get recaros.
- It makes no sense to not to get proper coolers
- To me, it almost feels like people who would buy a tech pack car is the kind of people who give corvette the bad name, i.e either retired or waxer or people who just want to drive around without ever pulling over 1g cornering. To be perfectly honest, I wish there was no tech package option and no comfortable seats to PREVENT those people from buying this car. I love how Porsche makes a statement with their cars, i.e GT4 or GT3. There are no compromises, they are uncomfortable. They are meant to be. No games.

The primary reason I have always been hesitant for getting a 2016 track pack has been the lack of electronics package options. Just the individually adjustable climate control is an option that is important enough. The small screen in the base car also makes the car look 10-15 years older. In this day an age, for 60k, any car comes with a screen larger than the iphone 6.

Same reason I bought a tech car. I was concerned the Recaros would be way too uncomfortable. Every other Ford with Recaros that I've sat in did not fit me at all.
Same here and I'm not really that big of a guy. 5'11" and 190lbs. Gotta be about average I would think. I couldn't even have anything in my pockets when I drove my my ST. :headbonk:

Well good for you. That is why there are options, because other people like different things and have different needs/ideas for their car.

1 of the cars is gone, I have 2 more left.

To be honest, 2 of the cars have been sitting for a few months. No one is buying tech packs guys. Maybe you can negotiate it below MSRP?

And I also didn't want the Recaros that come standard in the track pack. I had them in an ST, not sure if they are the same or not, but I found them way to restrictive for semi daily use. I could've had a 16 track pack instead of my car, but for your reason and this, I decided on the tech car.
I'm not saying 2016 Track over 2016 Tech. I am saying if you want the tech options (which I understand a lot of people do, and I respect that), and you still don't own a GT350 this late in the production calendar, then wait and get a 2017 where you can get the upgraded stereo and leather seats, but still get the coolers that make a GT350 a GT350.

I am also 5'11" and 189 lbs. I fit perfectly in race seats. In fact in my M5, I have the side bolsters tight maximum amount which is .... TIGHT!:))))

From my standpoint, I could see myself being interested in a Tech pack. Hypothetically, IF I was to go that route, it would be my DD, just like my GT is today. I would basically be one of the "guys" that dude a few posts above was ranting about, that give Corvettes a bad name, or some such nonsense. I have zero interest in tracking the car just like I have zero interest in drag racing my GT. I drive it to/from work, to the grocery store, etc. It's my money, my car, I'll enjoy it the way I want to. Seems too many people are too worried about what other people are spending their money on. Just enjoy what you've got.

Now, all of that being said, I think I could live with a Tech package car even knowing what we now know about the cooling issues. However, I would be very hard pressed to even think about paying MSRP for it at this point. I think I'd have to be a good bit below MSRP before even considering it. Not because I personally think I would have an issue with it overheating, but more because of the apparent stigma associated with it that could affect the future resale value side of things.

I think owners who pre-ordered these cars, well before knowing about these issues, should be able to file a Diminished Value claim against Ford if they don't fix it!

Same here the tech car works for me. and ...those Recaros are not racing seats. The 13 Boss Recaros were a much better fit then the current 350. Even the 13 GT 500 Recaros are a better fit. Not sure why Ford changed the dementions of the seats. I'm 6'5" 205 and don't fit in those 350 Recaros. Been driving in 95 degree weather and no issues with spirited driving.I Like the tech pack features over the track pack since I'm not tracking the car EVER.

Agreed for the most part. I found a deal to unload my GT for more than it was worth and jumped on it to get the 350 at retail price. If it was a track pack, still would have jumped. I could have lived with both. That being said, I seriously doubt the thousands of Tech packs already sold will be devalued by a handful of heat issues with tracking the car on this forum. This is a close community so issues will be brought to light more frequently, and sometimes panic ensues. The market however says differently. Theres a track pack sitting at a dealer a mile from me because of ADM. If you're worried about resale... don't buy a car in general. Worst financial decision ever.

I get it, but I there are still reasons to pick one up. That's all I'm saying. The dolt comment was a bit over the top IMO.

The stereo will still be subpar. I plan doing some upgrades and I would to the 17 as well.

To each his own, I love my current seats and had no interest in the more aggressive Recaros. Even though I plan on doing a few track/autox days a year, 99% of my miles will be street driven so comfort was more of a concern for me.

There is no claim for buying a car with a "track" pack not getting it and complaining it overheats on the track.

The tech 2015 2016 non track models will get hurt on resale though
