M25 @ 6am. On a Gatwick Airport run home. I'm doing a steady 70mph (along the speed camera section incidentally). He slowed me down to around 50mph at times.

This never happened in me Jag :D

No audio cause it's full of me saying things like "do behave chap", "stop being a silly boy" & "do just go away"..... you get the picture

Dunno what car it is either

Looks like an overpriced/underpowered Golf to me. What was he doing?

Apart from pi**ing me off? Trying to race, one guesses. It went on for about 10 miles or so.

You get it a lot, I've had old 2008 civics, VXRs, Audi A1s, Old Golfs, the lot you name it, from mid to late 2000, to pre 2000 reg cars pulling up along side me, or speeding up and then cruising next to me... Depending on the day or stretch i'll make them look a prat infront of their significant others, obviously, never going over the speed limit...

You also notice you get a lot of people 'chasing' you on roads, it's odd... I kinda like it, until Mr Idiot gets too close to my back end and I drop 5th and bolt, or when Plonker in the car cruising next to me is taking pictures of me... I mean, the car ;)!

Odd thing... the faster the car is, the more patient I am. I don't need to get points to prove that my cars faster. :frusty:

Had the same thing once in my old Renault Megane 225 cup on the M4 one night, he just kept slowing down then as I came along side him he'd boot it, the Megane was getting on age wise and after a while I was so tired of it I got to the point where I wasn't slowing down the next time he'd braked in front of me, think he worried more for his car than I did...he gave up very quick.

Hahah, funnily enough I'm the same, I used to ahem... Spiritedley drive everywhere in my corsa, high revs etc, like a little lunatic I guess.... However, I get up to 70 in the stang now in a few seconds and just hit cruise control and enjoy the ride.

Guess the difference is, when you enjoy driving your car, aint much gonna take you out of it! WHen you hate it you just want the drive over and done with... Equally, I still get to my usual destinations quicker in the stang than I did in the Corsa

True but I suppose you could have given her a few revs just to prove a point and get rid of him?

I was tempted but had my Daughter in the car with her boyfriend so best not go down the "do as I say, not as I do" route ;)

As a side note: avoid Gatwick arrivals multistory car park until you know your cars size 100%. Jeez, the turns to go up & down are so tight against the 6" concrete kerbs! I obviously know the car okay but its all guesswork because of the hood. Can't see a damned thing. Heart stopping moments somewhat

Good drive though, even through the roadworks which stopped traffic. It occurred to me that this car gives me an unseen grin from inside whenever I drive it. Hard to describe but either way, I don't need to race some nob

Definitely the wisest/best thing to do is not to rise to it. Besides, it winds them up a treat :)

Golf R is about 315 brake I believe, so no slouch, but pointless racing. Do that on a track :)
