ah that's interesting! and i'm not sure, it would be getting it into work that would be the issue, and it was quite time consuming so its not the easiest thing for them to take on as a side hobby.

but as Manders said it isn't difficult to do yourself, i just had mine done because we have proper ovens and spray booths at work



in addition to that the the priming is the most lengthy part, if you want a decent gloss finish use filler primer and sand down multiple times before spraying other was you end up with a tide type affect in the paint.

Yep I had a filler primer, layered that on 3 times, no sanding required, it's super smooth :cheers:!

It's a nice fun little mod to do yourself - at least that's what I found

Loving them stripes. I have recently removed my Ford factory fit stripes from the order and am going aftermarket gloss black similar to yours but with all black inc pin stripes. Seeing this only makes me think its such a right decision.

that sounds interesting, i look forward to seeing it once you get it done! i definitely think the wider stripes suit it better rather than the narrower factory stripes

Prime and spray the coolant tank, I'm planning on doing so! Just gotta figure out how to remove it without coolant going everywhere.

Im planning on going for a mishimoto aluminium coolant tank, look for the CJponyparts installation video on that its really easy to remove the tank and drain it without making a mess!

Some people mask the edge of the lettring and spray them after, others use airbrushing.

My guy used a syringe to fill it up with paint and left it to level out and dry

What "Powered by ford" bit are we talking about here? On the engine cover? You can attempt to masking tape it off, this is super fiddly though.

I found the best thing to do was to use a resin based paint after doing the rest of the cover. Dollop it in with a cocktail stick, and spread it into the gaps I probably went through about 15.... After about an hour, the base of the resin will go a funky texture and you can use another cocktail stick to manoeuvre the edges and refine them, but also use it to peel off the other bits of paint without it leaving a mark.

so today i fitted my Mishimoto Coolant Expansion tank in place of that horible factory bottle, only took about half an hour to do and it drastically improves the look of the engine bay!
