DeatschWerks does have data up to 225bar.

Values are lbm/s, the internal ECU value.

We've had luck with boosting HPFP stability with an in tank pump on the f150's. That being said, the stock injectors still keep up with the fuel demanded.

This data was inferred and wasn't actual. Also, the guys running it with SCT have since removed and went back to stock.

It's very possible since the last time we spoke they have characterized from 100-200bar, however I have yet to hear about it. The data provided above matched what I tested and it was no go.

I've heard of people having similar success doing the same with the SHOs. Interesting to say the least.

I have twin Walbro 465's in my tank and I don't think the DI side would keep up even with that helping out. For a stock car it may be feasible but I don't see anyone wanting to drop in a billet hat or even a GT500 assembly and extra FPDM to test it out. There is no easy way to upgrade the in-tank pump on this car.

I don't know what the push is for DI other than minor simplicity. The PI/DI combos are pretty well sorted now and I think the benefits of the PI outweigh any convenience or costs.

Not to mention that seems to be the way Ford is going with the Gen2 3.5 Ecoboost motor in the 2017 Raptor.

I agree, it won't keep up with heavy mods. We simply did it to increase stability, as the stock pumps were falling behind.

Raptor will have dual fueling. I believe that's carrying over to all gen 2 3.5's, but I do not know for sure.

I would suggest a google search on some of the white papers on DI, there are many out there. They all come to the same conclusion. When ethanol is injected via DI its effective octane rating is above 160, you pick up power, can run more boost, and more timing, while keeping the intake charge extremely cool, and raising the knock threshold. When injecting via PI your effective octane rating drops to around 100, the intake charge cooling is extremely diminished, and your knock threshold is much lower, meaning less boost, and timing before you experience knock. None of this is stuff I am saying, its all stuff proven via testing, and written into scientific papers. There is a reason all OEM's are going to DI, and its not because its cheap or easy. The more fuel you can inject via DI, the more efficient the motor will be, and more power it will make.

Here is one paper this one focusing more on comparing Ethanol to Methanol: http://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S1877705815004889

If we could get a HPFP replacement that'd even let me run E50-E70, I'd be more than happy with it. For simplicity and use of the OE controls, I'd prefer an upgraded HPFP and would even pay good money for one, when/if it comes to market.

Me too, ive bought my AUX fuel, but am not excited about it at all, was out of necessity. Gonna make my car look like a race car under the hood now.

Spoke to the owner of full-race last night regarding an upgrade on my truck, and got a little extra info y'all might enjoy:

Hey man, how's it going? You ever got around to doing that raptor swap on the freak-o-boost?

Anyway, I'm in the middle of building my axles and stepping up to 4.56's. I'm thinking about grabbing a set of turbos from you, or stepping up to a bigger kit that you offer. Did anyone ever figure out aux fueling on these? I've been so wrapped up with my mustang that I've fallen behind on the Eco stuff.

Thanks,
J, Pinero

hey jordan, always good to hear from you. I do have a 3.5L aux fueling setup built and ready to test. But im up to my eyeballs in 2.3L development for mustang and RS and 2017 raptor. Ive literally have had zero time to play with the older 3.5 lately. FYI - a new HPFP is set to debut at SEMA. im waiting for mine, should be ready any day now. i still think the aux fueling will be required to flex the built motors, but very eager to see with this HPFP can do.

What turbos are you thinking to do - bolt on upgrades? or the EFR kit

thats awesome youre going to the 4.56s! i have a pile of raptor LCAs and 2 spare 3.5L engines at the shop. 2.3L development is my full time focus until SEMA. this winter i hope to do a built motor and then turn my EFR's up

Hopefully, it won't be vaporware. If I can get an upgraded HPFP and hit 500 whp, I'll be more than happy with it.

In my experience dealing with Geoff and Full-Race in the past few years, they don't do anything half assed. That being said, he's thinking that the new pump should feed me out past 500 rwhp on my 3.5L. So, these injectors may finally prove useful. We'll see.
