I have had my car for just over 3 months and 3,000 miles. Today I completed the paperwork to trade it in for an almost identical car equipped with the automatic. I'm not gonna lie boys, this was an expensive lesson. That said, I fell like I'm going to enjoy driving the new car more every day. The general unpleasantness of the mt-82 (even with the BG fluid swap and Steeda clutch spring) made me second guess taking my car places and I hated that feeling. Picking up the car Thursday, will keep ya updated!

TL;DR traded in a manual for an auto, took it real good on the trade.

Definitely understand... Thinking about doing the same if my car keeps having issues. Could get into lemon law territory for me. Hate the MT-82.

How much of a price difference if you don't mind sharing? If not, I understand. Condolences but I'm sure you'll love the ease of just cruising.

Let's just say I had the pleasure of donating another $3000 to CA in tax and license fees, on top of an extremely limited new car selection. Very few guard metallic cars in CA. The new one is coming from a dealer in the Bay Area.

Can you elaborate more? I don't understand...I love driving my manual and wouldn't hesitate taking it anywhere.

I am also interested in why and where you dread taking the manual GT. I dread taking my wife's automatic Fusion, or my daughter's automatic Focus, because of the chance they might bore me to sleep (admittedly an exaggeration). I never dread taking my manual GT.

After installing the Steeda Tri-Ax shifter and Steeda Clutch Spring, I don't have any trouble driving my manual Mustang anywhere. I admit it gets annoying in traffic, but I wouldn't say it's nearly bad enough to ditch it for an autotragic.

My transmission is pretty smooth. No issues at all. The only mod is removing the clutch spring. It clunked from time to time when I first got it but after 1000 miles it went away.

I couldn't drive an auto mustang, no offense to you guys that do. To me a sports car needs to be manual and I love ripping through the gears. If I just wanted to smash the pedal I'd get an accord or an SUV.

I'm tired of the thud on 1-4 gear engagement, the lockout on the 2-3 upshift, and wondering if I'm going to have the clutch or transmission issues that others are posting about. I thought about trying the Steeda or MGW shift assemblies and ultimately decided that I didn't want to spend that kind of money for something that made my car "acceptable". I'm glad you guys enjoy your manuals and I hope you have no issues with them.

I was the opposite. I loved my 2013 SHO, except for the automatic. I think i would buy a new 2017 SHO if they had it in a manual.

Especially in traffic. An automatic put me to sleep. I feel so disconnected from the car. Paddle shifters are such a gimmick. It is the 3rd pedal that makes the experience.

That can be said about any mod to the car. Lots of us will do exhaust, tune, suspension etc to make the car look and feel better. I think the mustang should have come from the factory with a more aggressive exhaust and better suspension. Since it didn't steeda and AM got all of money.

I have thuds in low gears constantly. Not sure if it's attributed to the 3.55 or just this transmission/clutch in general. I will say I tested a 3.31 manual recently and didn't notice it so idk

If you were only out an additional 3k that's not bad. I inquired about trading mine for an auto a couple months after purchasing and they were offering like 10k less than what I paid.

Ouch. I was offered about 4-5 less.

Yep, I can imagine they'll run you backwards through a corn field with no lube on that trade. I recently traded a '16 ecoboost auto base car for a '16 gt auto premium. I feel like Koons did me pretty well, though I still took it in the can on the payment because I was trading up so far, and I had negative equity in the ecoboost.
