Im going to install an "SVT" door sill in my GT350R. SVT reminds of the good 'ol days - you know, before Ford was shoving V6 EcoBoost down our throats. I love the GT350R, but Im not really happy with anything else that Ford is doing, performance or not.

V6 Ford GT supercar? check.

Full Size, next-gen Raptor? V6. Check.

No V8 in the Expedition? Check.

Feminize the new Ford Explorer, remove the V8 and all off-road prowess and make it look like a minivan? Check.

Plan to make Lincoln look like a cheap rental car compared to it's main competitor, Cadillac? Big Check

Refuse to offer a full-size flagship sedan to compete with the CT6 or Charger? check.

Refuse to give the only close-to-full-size car (Taurus) any love or refinement? Check.

Let GM build a LT4-powered CTS-V, a 6.2L Escalade that weighs 5,900 lbs and gets better MPG and performance out of it's Vortec 6.2L V8 then the 3.5L EcoBoost V6 does in the lighter F-150? check.

Let Chrysler and GM flood the market with the one thing that Americans want: full-size cars with V8's with plenty of room and luxury - and not even address this need? CHECK

I highly doubt they made a new die for different attaching holes.
Agreed

can u check if it has sync 3 2.0 android auto feature? besides the soft rollover everything else is a gimmick
Would be great if it had that feature

There goes the value of your '17. That change will probably devalue it by several thousand dollars, compared to a completely original car.
Wait till you see the 4 wheel lift kit and burl wood interior kit -

I generally prefer the 2016 sill, but at the end of the day, neither one is that big of a deal. Both really are fine, as long as the car looks good, is fast and built well.

Some people live under a rock. I welcome the 3.5 ecoboost. I agree a v8 sounds better. But the ecoboost is no joke. What's the difference if it a 600 hp v8 or a 600hp v6? Just sound. I have a 2 wheel drive regular cab short bed F150 with a 2.7 and a 2012 f150 2 wheel drive extended cab short bed f150 fx2 5.0 and I'm telling you the 2.7 is hands down faster and better on gas. These ecoboost engines are impressive. On a sound note the v8 wins hands down. You'll buy a Porsche with a turbo 6 but not a ford GT?
Not sure if that question was directed at me or stinger whom I quoted. I am just saying I think there should be a V8 option at least. I understand Ford did the V6 in the GT for the rule books when they go racing. But I would like an optional V8. Thats what the car has had since its inception so I think thats what it needs, or an upgrade is fine. V10? Sure. V12? Absolutely. V16? Add AWD? Sure, if it works and doesn't add 1000lbs. But going V6 is backwards to me. What about a 700hp I4? It can be done but who wants that. Remember the Ferrari F40? A little 3.0 V8 TT. I would rather have a 3.0TT V8 than, a 4.0 TT V6 as far as Muscle Cars and Hot Rod Trucks go.

But at the end of the day none of this matters. The youth care less and less about vehicles with each generation. Hotrod culture is dying. You think people were happy when autotragic transmissions came out. Wait till autonomous electric cars became affordable and a decent charging infrastructure is put into place. Not only that, how do you think people in the future are gonna feel about classics? Research is saying that in a few decades classic cars (our time and older) aren't gonna be going for insane money like we see with current classics that are desirable. Simply because the future generations won't place much value on cars or their time, much less of the past. Maybe some with historical value will be valuable, but in 2065 a pristine 2015 GT350 isn't gonna go through an auction for the money (adjusted for inflation) that a 65 GT350 will today. It will be kinda like trying to sell a perfect low mile Cobra II. Its a Mustang. Its rare. But the desire just isn't there.

Ahh yes.. SVT.. with such machines as the Contour SVT, the rowdy SVT focus, the Lightning - 5.4 supercharged powerhouse that if prompted would spill it's guts making whp similar to what a modified 2.3l ecoboost can on stock internals. I think you're looking through rose colored glasses and have some type of gripe with Ford.. not sure why you're purchasing the R if you contain so much hatred for the brand. I'm certain there is someone out there looking for one, I'd leave the cheesy upgraded door sill logo off to protect the resale value. What I see Ford doing is outselling GM this year for the first time in 5 years back in March. The Ford GT has way more buyers than it will produce units to satisfy, being a former Raptor 6.2l owner I would absolutely welcome the new ecoboost, the 6.2 wasn't impressive in any way and left a lot to be desired in the 12.6mpg I got on average and most of that was highway driving @ 70mph. I personally think Ford is on quite a roll and most of the industry agrees.
Agreed with most of your thoughts. However you are also comparisons an ancient lightning with brand new tech. If Ford gave a new v8 the same treatment the v6 gets, we'd be talking an exotic level of power with great reliability.

I agree with the previous poster that Ford could be doing better in that area. By I don't agree that the competition is "winning."

The Mustang and the Raptor really should have top dog v8 ecoboost options. No reason for the raptor to forego that. And the GT... It's cool. But a v8 would be better. And then again for the rare ones that get modded. The 6 can be built pretty far. But the 8 can be built beyond that.

This will have zero effect on the value... its a door sill who buys a gt350/R and cares about the door sill?
The car is the sum total of all the details.

No it isn't like an engine or suspension downgrade.

But heck yes it matters.

Especially when the last one was so great.
