You must just be talking about what you want. If you actually look at US sales you would know Toyota is the most profitable car maker in the world and the Camry has been the best selling car in the US almost every year for a couple decades now. And what was the last exciting car Toyota made for the average buyer? Have you seen Cadillac's car sales? Terrible. The Mustang outsold the entire Alpha platform last month and its sales were down like everyone's.

Ford is just bringing to market what it thinks people will buy just like every other car maker.

And I also want to say that I agree on the GT and the Raptor needing at least a V8 option or special edition. But unfortunately for Ford I can't afford either so are they gonna listen to me or soccer mom who's husband is pullin in 6 figures.
Some people live under a rock. I welcome the 3.5 ecoboost. I agree a v8 sounds better. But the ecoboost is no joke. What's the difference if it a 600 hp v8 or a 600hp v6? Just sound. I have a 2 wheel drive regular cab short bed F150 with a 2.7 and a 2012 f150 2 wheel drive extended cab short bed f150 fx2 5.0 and I'm telling you the 2.7 is hands down faster and better on gas. These ecoboost engines are impressive. On a sound note the v8 wins hands down. You'll buy a Porsche with a turbo 6 but not a ford GT?

Not that it matters much, but two extra speakers ain't gonna fix the sound system shortcomings, especially if the quality of the two new ones are anything like the 2016's.
:shrug::help:
Hoping they upgraded the existing ones in addition to adding the new set.
Any ideas what they did change in the sound system? Is there a subwoofer now? I need to order a trunk mat. Ford site didn't mention anything so I figure it's not the Shaker system upgrade.
This sound system may be upgraded. I just saw a 2017 on cars.com. There is now a SHAKER logo under the radio in front of the shifter. In addition to the new speakers, this leads me to believe Ford may have addressed or at least attempted to address sound system concerns.

I'm fine with the changes. The lit up sills are neat- and an even trade for the 16s that looked a bit cooler.

Excited to have the coolers and the electronic niceties as it will be a daily driver- as my Boss has been since 2011.

You don’t want to know
In case anyone wants to know, I just ordered a set of 16 sill plates from autonation ford http://www.fordparts.com/autonationfordwhitebearlake usually a pretty good discount Ford parts outlet. The cost of the plates from them is $161.57 per side, normal retail from Ford is $240. I bit the bullet and ordered a set. That's how much I hate the new sill plates.
There goes the value of your '17. That change will probably devalue it by several thousand dollars, compared to a completely original car.

Im going to install an "SVT" door sill in my GT350R. SVT reminds of the good 'ol days - you know, before Ford was shoving V6 EcoBoost down our throats. I love the GT350R, but Im not really happy with anything else that Ford is doing, performance or not.

V6 Ford GT supercar? check.

Full Size, next-gen Raptor? V6. Check.

No V8 in the Expedition? Check.

Feminize the new Ford Explorer, remove the V8 and all off-road prowess and make it look like a minivan? Check.

Plan to make Lincoln look like a cheap rental car compared to it's main competitor, Cadillac? Big Check

Refuse to offer a full-size flagship sedan to compete with the CT6 or Charger? check.

Refuse to give the only close-to-full-size car (Taurus) any love or refinement? Check.

Let GM build a LT4-powered CTS-V, a 6.2L Escalade that weighs 5,900 lbs and gets better MPG and performance out of it's Vortec 6.2L V8 then the 3.5L EcoBoost V6 does in the lighter F-150? check.

Let Chrysler and GM flood the market with the one thing that Americans want: full-size cars with V8's with plenty of room and luxury - and not even address this need? CHECK
I think your opinions of what consumers want is not necessarily what they really want. You and I would prefer big V8s, but most really just don't care.

Outside of Truck buyers and sports/muscle car fans people just don't care if it is not a V8. Hell if Ford has proven anything, it has shown that most of their truck buyers don't care either.

Americans are not craving full sized cars with big V8s. The Charger is the only one in recent memory with any real success. The G8 and SS from GM were more or less flops. Sure the CTS-V is bad ass, but it is extremely expensive and not really obtainable for all but a super small percentage of new car buyers.

Understand your concerns and hope that the 2015/2016 door sill plates that you just purchased will fit properly into your 2017 GT350?

The only sound I need are from my flat plane v8 with long tube headers and in sport mode. To each their own.

I highly doubt they made a new die for different attaching holes.

I wonder if they put a Shelby logo puddle light on the door mirrors like the mustang logo on the non GT350.

I'm a huge V-8 guy, but I love my wife's Ecoboost F-150. It seems a lot healthier than the 5.4 we had in her 2010 Raptor.

Wow dude. REALLY!?!?!?
So a ecoboost V6 Ford GT isn't bad ass to you? Even when it can smoke a vett or viper or most import cars? 600hp V6 is impressive. Especially in a light weight car like the GT. If ford made a Shelby GT500 or whatever name they'll call it with a 600-700hp ecoboost v6 and the weight was right I'd buy it in a heartbeat.

Same goes for the raptor.

Those POS chargers with v8 or v6 are junk. Most people that buy them work for dodge. They don't sell that great. Most are leased.

Show me any GM truck getting 25-30+ mpg. Nope not gonna happen. You'll be lucky to get low 20s period.
The market sales on the CTS-v, yeah really? That's a low volume sales vehicle. Not many out there. And they are over priced for most people.

The average American driver wants one thing. Mpg. Not mph. Most daily drivers care less about how fast it is or how much hp it has. They want cheap cars, dependable, good mpg, and cheap insurance and car payment. We're not in the 50s and 60s anymore. We should be happy that we can have a 526hp naturally aspirated v8 in today's times.
Mark my word. The v8 days in cars and light trucks are numbered. I guarantee it. Fords proving it. Ford only offeres 1 v8 in all of its cars and light truck line up. The mustang 5.0 and the 5.0 F150. Forget about the F250 and larger truck and 6.7 power stroke. And don't count the 5.2. It's a limited production vehicle. It's not a question of if. It's when ford decides to drop the v8 (and it will) the ecoboost will fill the gap. Today's ford GT ecoboost v6 started life in the f150, Taurus, flex, and now the superCar GT. history repeats itself, the mustang is next. Sign me up.
