I am new to forum. I have a 2016 GT premium automatic trans with a Roush phase 1 supercharger. The other night I got whooped pretty bad by my buddy who has a stock 2016 Vette auto trans (460hp should run 11.8-12.0). He pulled two lenghts out of the hole. I do not understand the traction control, S or D and what the hell is advance trac. I did have traction control on and in D. Not to mention trac or sport+ modes. I am very disappointed my car should at least be a mid 11s car. Any help will be much appreciated.

While stopped and foot on brake, push and hold TC button for 8-10 seconds untill you see advance track off. To launch, do not power brake because the Roush tune will pull timing, roll into the gas from idle, give it as much as you can without going up in smoke.

Turn traction control off and don't launch at a high rpm as you'll bog yourself down. I've actually had a lot of success with leaving the car at idle while I was staged and flooring it when the 2nd yellow light comes up. I'd leave the transmission in D, and leave the driving mods alone (just use regular).

My 2013 auto was running low 12's with just a tune/intake/catback exhaust (and spare removed).

I'd suggest getting some drag radials but I have no clue whether or not you'd need to upgrade your half shafts. That's something to look into.

Honestly just expect the new auto stingrays to get you out the hole, they're 60 foot is super quick and you'd probably have to invest in a high stall torque converter to match up. Being supercharged though you should have the power to reel your friends vet back in. There are lots of supercharged mustangs in the 10's and low 11's.

Any chance you have your slip? Posting that could help everyone with giving advice.

Good grief. If he was only out two cars you should have reeled him in pretty easily. Turn the traction control off and try again.

This is absolutely true he got me out of the hole but I could never catch him. I think it has to do with the traction-advance trac crap. I am not new to mustangs or racing I also have a 99 Roush with Vortech 10.9 car but it is a stick and no trac control. I thought this 2016 would be a beast but he spanked me good. I did have the traction control on. All the modes and controls have me confused should everything be off and do you want trac mode or D or S. My 99 beats him easily. This was not at the track no slips we live near a nice road that is deserted. I made a pass using the on board timer and it said 13.1 @ 110 mph I could probably look at the 60ft and 1/8 if it is recorded.

First off the stage 1 kit with the automatic is no more than a high 11 sec car maybe mid 11's on a tire. I was blown away at how awful the tune was for the automatic stage 1 blower. My dealer was shocked and I said screw it and they paid to have mine tuned. I ran a 10.95@125 smoking the tires in 2nd gear with the Lund tune. My n/a 15 with catted headers and a stall would walk all over my 16 with the TVS/Roush blower with the Roush tune.

Hold the traction control toggle switch in the up position for 7 to 10 seconds. You'll get a notice between your tach and speedo that says advance trac off! Hit the OK on the steering wheel button.
Toggle the driver mode switch to track. Place the car in either drive or sport.
Launch the car at about 1500RPMs and don't just stomp the throttle or you will spin. Take it to the track and get a real timeslip!!!

That tune is that bad!! Mine was the same way and within a hour of owning it the dealer agreed to have it tuned for me. It is a shame they put that package deal together and really you are not getting much more than what the car does stock with that tune

With the Roush tune there is no need to worry about the advance track. You can turn it all off but just as soon as it spins the torque management kicks in and shuts you down. It is just like having the traction control on

So get rid of the roush tune and the problem shouldbe solved. OP might want to give Lund a try.

If he wants his $$ worth then yes. I went 10.95@125 spinning with the 670hp kit and Lund tune. It went a 7.05@101 yesterday in +2221 DA yesterday. It is a easy high 6 sec 1/8 mile car like it sits

roush tune is horrible

i have a 2016 with a roush phase 1, the tune is a joke.. honestly a joke. go spend the extra 500$ and get tuned by lund or some other reputable tuner. the roush tq management setting is a pig, due to roush not wanting to pay out for warranty issues. i assure you with decent weather a decent tire with a lund tune youll break 10s.
