Best way I can describe it is that the stock one feels as though the entire pedal (start to finish) feels exactly the same. No biting point etc. You kind of just "learn" where it is after a while. With this new spring, it's ultra light for about 1/4 to 1/2", then you feel the "point". After this point, it's significantly heavier than the stock feel.How much free play at the point of disengagement with the stock spring?
Yes, it is easier to shift now. But at what cost? I think personally I got more than used to the stock spring after a while and could always get that point easily. Just takes more time than a standard clutch pedal on other cars.
So to sum it up, it really depends on what kind of driving conditions you usually do most (traffic/weekend cruiser etc). Positives and negatives for both springs.
