So I have the Corsa Xtreme 3" cat-back on my car, which came with an adaptor to the 2.5" factory header/cat piping. This is great, because I wasn't sure which headers I wanted and it made it easier to install without welding or cutting anything up. I've now decided to buy Kooks 1-7/8 headers, I've used Kooks on other cars so I figured why change what's not broken, right? However I noticed they ship with 2.5" adaptors to mate to a factory cat-back, blah! What kind of monster mates LTs to factory 2.5" cat back? :D Obviously I don't want to mate two 3" systems with a 2.5" pipe in the middle as that's just silly.

Is there another way to order the headers or some other kit for the Corsa to just mate the Kooks to the Corsa 3" to 3"? I could cut the adaptors of both kits and just weld in a 3" pipe between them, but it'd be nice to keep the bolt together nature of the systems.

I would highly suggest ARH, we worked with them to offer a system that is plug and play with Corsa, one of our biggest sellers as well. Price is very competitive. Just give us a shout with any questions and we'll take care of ya!!

We've done countless ARH installs already on the new platform and has been great every time

yeah go with arh with the 3" connect for corsa and call it a day. arh is old kooks employees anyways....kooks is being kinda dumb for not having the option when arh and sw do.

Thanks guys. Going to consider ARH then, I do see the option on your site for a 3" connection, so maybe that's the easiest.

May I ask what's your reasoning for it?

Performance or sound?
Reason for not wanting a 2.5" piece of pipe between 3" systems or reason for getting headers? Really the answer for both is performance. You shouldn't have a 2.5" diameter pipe in a 3" system since it's going to create back pressure, specifically once more power is added (FI). The reason to get headers is performance, the car already sounds great with the Corsa exhaust, it will change and in my opinion improve the sound, but the main reason to go through the trouble is performance especially when adding more power later. Hence why I want to do 1 7/8 headers instead of 1 3/4, more capacity for FI later.

I'm in the same boat with the 3" Xtreme.

Vendors checking this thread, feel free to PM me any deals on high flow catted Kooks 1 7/8" and I'll consider buying. Been sitting on the fence for almost six months now. I should've waited for deals on the Xtreme when I bought those but whatever, I was trigger happy. Not paying retail again

Also comparable ARH LTs. I like the idea of plug and play. Not interested in O/R pipes though.

you can do factory connect in any brand.

If you want to delete the 3", we have the ARH and Stainless works and stainless power that are made to go full 3", you can pull the adapters out for a single 3" connection vs multiple pieced systems

hit us up for pricing. the stainless works / power is exclusive to us. and we also have the arh

For the adapters. Corsa was kind enough to hook me up on the adapters. I think it only applies to the first batch of corsas. But good luck on your choice both headers are great.
