Tap and Die, not way around it.

I have the 20"s and the K-Brace. Bought a forum members STB, and it was a simple bolt off - bolt on installation. Not quite correct. My car came with the factory 20" wheels which includes the K-brace from the firewall to the strut towers. I ordered a factory STB and it didn't come with the nuts, but my car had the nuts already installed. I've seen where others have had no nuts on those studs. It may be that if you get the K-brace, they also include the nuts on the strut towers. I think I remember Bill from CJPP mentioning the fact that you may not have the nuts from the factory on his STB install video.
I don't know right off hand what the actual size is on the STB studs, but the threads are most likely metric since these cars use metric fasteners elsewhere.I'm going to have to inspect the threads closely next time I take a look at it. What would be the correct sized die?
Take one of the good nuts off and go to your local Home Depot. They usually have a board in the fasteners section with most common sizes of metric and SAE bolts. See which one the nut threads onto correctly. That's your size.I don't know right off hand what the actual size is on the STB studs, but the threads are most likely metric since these cars use metric fasteners elsewhere.
You will need to know the diameter in millimeters and the thread pitch also in millimeters. An example would be "14 x 1.25", which means 14 mm in diameter and 1.25 mm between threads (ie, thread pitch).
Sweet, thank you!Take one of the good nuts off and go to your local Home Depot. They usually have a board in the fasteners section with most common sizes of metric and SAE bolts. See which one the nut threads onto correctly. That's your size.
Best,
