Hey all - lurker coming in from the shadows here. First off lots of great info here - thanks! So I've had my mind set on a 17 GT350 with convenience package - perfect mix of fun for me while accommodating the family. Not going to see much track time - more weekend street driven. My dealer will get me squared away pretty fairly on one.

Now the curveball - the R. Was not really considering an R but asked just to see where they are at. They've definitely given me something to think about... For you guys with Rs - thoughts on how they are on the streets? With family? Concerned leaving it anywhere? Not sure I can pass this up but want to be able to enjoy the car for how I intend to use it.

Either way going to be magnetic with black/red ott. Did check out an avalanche grey one - looks incredible too. Think that is going to go on the raptor.

Thanks!

The R doesn't come with a back seat although, you can add that in after the fact. Regarding the stripes, black/red is only available on the R. It would be black/white on the GT350.

Yeah will definitely have to add the back seat. Actually kind of surprised it's not a factory option for the 17s since the kit is available. Didn't notice that on the stripes - thanks!!

Honestly, I love mine! I wouldn't have it any other way... But I don't really foresee any road trips with the family in mine. She can surely get bumpy in the back... But oh the sound, that sound is absolutely intoxicating.

If you've got the ability to get one, do it!!! Don't even look back... Save the family trips for the raptor.

Great to hear! Definitely don't envision any lengthy road trips with the family in it - just running around town. Seeing that pretty much everywhere - get it and don't look back. Must be something to it!

Did you add a back seat?

Thanks!!

I'm adding the backseat to mine so the kids can enjoy the fun. My rear seat kit arrived last week, box was crushed. Seat was torn. Ford rep was less than helpful, borderline rude actually. But I have my new replacement on its way.

Do you plan to use it as a DD? I'll be using it on the weekends and some track use. I wouldn't be concerned parking it around town. Just park in the back of the lot and see what bozos park right next to you.

That's pretty disappointing - damaged and poor customer service is complete bs. Hopefully they get you squared away. Not a DD - mainly a weekender too.

If you are worried about the front splitter for normal driving, the base front splitter goes on, and is really cheap.

I say do it! Go for the R. I don't blame Ford for my problem. It was 1 bad employee. The dealer I ordered from took care of it all in the end. Jist amazes me how some people remain employed.

I say get the R. It really feels incredible and I like having rare things. Just get the back seat add. I have had no real issues running around town with the car.
The only issues I have, and there not really issues, with the car and it may be with a standard 350 is
-the brake dust down the side of the car with a short drive
-the rocks the tires pick up

But again I really like the car and the way it drives.

Thanks for the heads up, definitely a concern.

Good to hear they are getting it fixed. You installing yourself?

Ah yes, brake dust and rocks - two of my greatest enemies joining forces yet again. Love the brilliant bronze hue of a black wheel coated with brake dust.

Haven't decided yet. I've read the instructions and it's pretty straightforward. My only apprehension is being the one responsible for installing seat belts.

Installing factory seat belts is easy and pretty much foolproof if you have mechanical ability. No need to be apprehensive.

Order placed!

Switched up on the color. Avalanche grey with white stripes & black roof + electronics package. Probably will get the back seat on its way soon so I have it when the car gets here. Now the wait...

Is it here yet?!?!
