Well I guess I'll keep it on until I get my kooks..shitty considering it was supposed to clear. Probably wouldn't have ordered if was told as fact that it wouldn't clear kooks, was lead to believe there was no fit issues with KOOKS,ARH,SW/SP.

I have not confirmed fitment with AFE headers.

If you will post a pic of them in here, I could give a really good educated guess though.
Don't have them yet, but I was under the impression that it should have cleared the Kooks based on what was discussed in this thread... Sooo what headers do clear? Little disappointed honestly, because the brace does help. But wanted to go with Kooks so I did not need to relocate the wideband bung for running E85.

I am very sorry for making the assumptions that the Kooks Headers would work.

Based on the set we have here, and the initial product release photos - we were not aware that the primaries would end up being different.

See the images below - this is the design we had in mind when designing this brace. You will clearly see the primaries are different than what is currently shipping from Kooks.

Unfortunately this is out of my control. It does not look like there is any possible way to make this CB006 brace work with the current design Kooks LT Headers. :(

For comparison, here is the difference and what does not clear.

Ouch....that will be close. Those turn down almost 90 degrees like the Kooks.

I will gladly offer to accept the part back with no restocking fee if someone wants to take a chance at installing them. I highly doubt we will be acquiring those to test. Maybe I can get lucky and find someone local with them.

Unless they too alter something...:frusty:. To your knowledge are the above mentioned brands still shipping with the same configuration of headers that you tested? Just trying to not have to order and re order and chase my tail over a $100 part.

Already confirmed fitment on MT82 car with Kooks.
So curiosity when did Kooks make changes? I'm confused. When did the changes take place. I'd like to see if Kooks is still able to make the old version that was confirmed to fit in post 66 of this thread...

We have a set of Kooks headers here that we used for reference, that are identical to the photos above.

As for the changes, I honestly do not know.

I know this, we have Kooks LT headers here that we used to clarify clearance with - that we compared to the "release announcement" photos of them, so I did not think to even worry.

Who knows - maybe the release photos were simply just photos of a different design.

This is nothing new. We run into this ALL the time. Driveshaft loops for example. We design a part around a STOCK vehicle.....and try to ensure it fits as many aftermarket parts as we possibly can. It is not our fault that our products do not fit with other companies parts, and it's not their fault theirs do not work with ours.

In this case, there was a mistake made. I will be updating the product description today with a note "Does Not Work With Kooks LongTube Headers"

I mean your brace fits over what 90% of the headers out there. I mean you cant ask for much more than that. If i was the guy buying kooks id get my money back as the headers out there that fit are quality products. Id rather have thia brace!

We just finished up a batch of 50, and are starting another batch of over 100. These things are flying away! :headbang:

Thanks! And yes, the Kooks are the only design thus far from what we have seen, out of ALL of the OEM/Aftermarket versions available.
