Your understanding is correct but I looked it up just to double check and the Camaro does in fact use a twin-scroll turbo too. I thought it did which is why I was surprised at the lag. I felt like I was driving a pre-2015 WRX, power delivery was exactly the same. Must be the tune.

And only 3k miles since August??
Technically less than 3k miles since there were about 300 miles when I purchased it. The Color/Options combo I wanted was found at a dealer in Georgia and had to be driven to the South Carolina dealer.

I know someone who worked at GM (Opel) There are significant differences between the ATS and Camaro Engine, GM released a tune for the ATSs that significantly reduced the failures by limiting boost at lower RPM using the wastegate and throttle butterfly.

I think the Camaro's tuning and upgraded pistons, rings and pcv system from the later ATS will mean a relatively stout motor. Only time will tell, (just like the EB) once it gets into people's hands and they start doing 6th gear pulls on a hot day with 87 octane in the tank.

Edit: Just to be clear I hope it is stout not weak, The Turbo 4 will be vital to keeping the Camaro in production and Ford needs the Camaro to keep the Mustang from stagnating.
I hate it when people say this because there were some awesome Mustangs put out between 2002-2010. They were just lowly Cobras and GT500s, not the higher tier GT...

Unfortunately I think. Daily driver, long commute, 30k miles a year. Can never sell it. So might as well mod it and keep it. I am looking forward to getting the vargas stage 2.

For all the cars that are blowing up are these all heavily modded with tunes and being tracked all the time ?? Am i relatively safe if i just have a CAI, catted Downpipe, and Intercooler with an Adam tune, if im just daily driving? ill never track, only small pulls in traffic to pass people..

All I had was upgraded plugs, the OTS cobb tune and an intake and mine blew up so bad the dealer couldn't tell me what caused it.......so no.

10,000 miles, Early 10/14 build, tuned on E30 by A. Brunson, intake, intercooler, wastegate and only a single valve catch can running good. Only thing I notice is to stay on top of cylinder 3 spark plug for oil. Not a daily driver but I hit full boost at least once every time she's out of the garage, sometimes much more.

201A, PP, 6MT 3.55 gears

Squeaky clean throttle body. If this forum still supported tap talk I would upload the picture from my phone.

Another, 'no boom' running strong. +1 for early build AND certified pre-owned at 3,000 miles when I found her.

Early 2014 build as well. I hit 20k today and I saw my first 2016 gt350 drive by in person. Man that thing sounded awesome. Today was a good day.

Jeez if only everyone on here knew what the key was to saving your motors from blowing up.

Swapping out that turbo!
Aren't you selling your big turbo setup? Dont want to push your luck?

I personally don't think there is a problem with the motors. Just a few bad eggs which is the norm for anything built.

I don't think it would fit well on his GT350.

I remember the 4.6 and boat anchor V6 in the early S197, 2010 new Camaro debuted ans all of a sudden in 2011 the Coyote and Cyclone came out.

From what I understand, they were supposed to be out of the 2010 refresh but ford was lagging, You can believe the C5g lit the fires under Fords ass to get the engines out immediately!

I don't think the M6g would have been as good as it is without the C5g and Challenger providing impetus to improve dramatically.
